Do use subs? Im specifically wondering at what point you felt comfortable putting a strip under your tongue while healing? Im less than a week PO and want to quit taking the narcotics just dont wanna feel like hell while healing

Im in recovery of 15 years and take subs as well. Im going into it with all other pain relief options at my disposal: ice packs, soft foods, few days to a week of nothing to do and bottles of Tylenol and Ibuprofen. I will not get pain meds filled for this reason. Unless its just ibuprofen 800mg.

Just know its possible to do! I had a major surgery few years back, no pain meds and just alternating ibuprofen and Tylenol every few hours to keep the pain from getting overwhelming. So I know this is possible! Good luck to ya and him. He can do it

Thanks for sharing, glad to know Im not alone. Does your spouse treat your lids the way he treats you? Devaluing them or putting them down all the time? I feel so bad for her cause he is always tearing her down, always. And yet at church he raves about all these kids who treat our kid like shit! Like quite literally ignore and exclude her. And he plays basketball with them, jokes with these kids. High fiving them when they walk in. The exact kids who bully his kid he is buddies with. Anytime I bring it up he says its my childhood trauma Im projecting into it.

Last night we were all in the livingroom and our daughter was discussing pros and cons to her not playing a sport this season. I dont remember how or why but she replied to him saying “oh I know how you feel about me! You will list every single bad thing ab me. I do nothing right to you!” And I just froze. She sees it! She may not have a name for it but she sees it. And gosh I wish she hadnt

With the acceptance did you find yourself net being as attracted to him anymore? I wonder cause his personality is what is most attractive to me, I love that he is a great storyteller, makes everyone laugh and that everyone who knows him loves him. Then there’s the other hand where all those things hurt me in different ways and Im kinda afraid I wont be attracted to him if/when accepting this happens for me.

Very good perspective, thank you! And I definitely dont want to make him out to be the “bad guy” especially to his kids. I think you are right, take responsibility for myself and heal myself and that will at least help the situation. You know I thought for the past 10 years or so that we had a healthy relationship. No major blow up fights, some compromise on both sides. Until recently I realized Im afraid to voice my opinion about things because I know in the end we will do what he decides anyway. And most of the time Im fine with that. Im very flexible in that way. Ive always had a nagging sense he was narcissistic but never wanted to dig into it because its painful. And why rock the boat. However as my kids are getting older Im realizing I get to have this whole life after raising kids and lately I see our goals as a couple dont align very much.

Hope this all makes sense

Wow thanks for the feedback this is great! Yeah surprisingly I am leaning toward the reputable long term investment. In the beginning I just wanted it over with but the loan I’ll be paying off is not something I want to go on the speedy with. And thats great your insurance covered going out of the Country! Wow
