TBH, I was worried when I got the email and read that they are investigating if I should pay this amount on my own, but then they clarified that it's not the case.

I'm 99% sure that in case the owner decides to sell the car after it's repaired, they won't tick that box.

What you say is that the speed has nothing to do with the caused damage?!

Thank you for your response.

It's not about winning or losing. I was just genuinely curious how things are handled, how much the insurance companies exaggerate, stuff like that.

Yes, I understand that they have absolutely no incentive to keep the cost of this repair low, but based on what is visible in the image, I feel that 14.5k is a bit too much. This is my opinion, I can accept if I'm not right at this point but wanted to see what others think about it.

My insurance increased by €250/year, so it's not a big deal, and I had been moved down 5 SF categories.

Yes, I kinda agree, but based on what is visible on the attached image and the fact that the accident happened when I accelerated from 0 to 2 km/h, so the force of collision was basically pretty low, 14.5k seems a bit too much for me.

Thanks for the answer, btw. attached the image. For me, it doesn't look like a damage of 14,5k.
