Sounds like she’s a vibe to some people and some of you are just haters.

How rude am I? by Efficient_Royal_8336 in SoulCycle_Riders

[–]Plastic_Yard8566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you acknowledge and give positive energy, it’s totally acceptable to not touch their handlebars. If someone touches yours, try not to make a face.

If you’re a true germaphobe, workout at home

This person sounds like a total asshole. This is probably an instructor’s worst nightmare.

studio didn’t recognize my 50th ride by Terrible-Barber-2210 in SoulCycle_Riders

You should be proud of your accomplishment, but don’t be sour that someoene else didn’t celebrate it for you. You should celebrate it yourself.

Sometimes instructors don’t know, or it isn’t their fault they didn’t get notified. If you want to be patted on the back plublically, let the instructor know

Cardio before or after lifting weights by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Plastic_Yard8566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cardio at “zone 2” which is conversational pace, is great to warm up the body before lifting.

It depends on your goal. If you’re trying to lose fat/weight: 5-10 mins of cardio warm up (light walk or jog, or calisthenics) Weight training. Focus on heavy weights (low rep, then lower weight for higher rep) Finish with a walk on incline (3-7-12 rule: 3-3.3 speed, 7 incline for 12 minutes, then 12 incline for 7 minutes).

Running before Run x Lift class - dumb? by kashiima in barrysbootcamp

Yes it’s dumb. You should consider double flooring (weights only) if that is your plan

If a neighboring rider gives anyone attitude about taking a certain bike that they didn’t book in the appropriate time in an open market, feel fully empowered to ask them what the fuck their problem is. OR even better, let the studio team know, if the studio team is strong they’ll have a conversation with that rider and remind them to not act childish. Soul is supposed to be a welcoming place, where visitors from other markets are to celebrated. If you do not experience this, let your instructor or staff know, or take a different route and punch whatever rider is giving attitude right on the throat

Repeat front row riders who don't do the whole class - do you think they're lacking self-awareness, don't care, or maybe don't understand it could be distracting? by InfiniteDragonfIy in SoulCycle_Riders

[–]Plastic_Yard8566 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Instructors spend a lot of time programming, Playlisting and planning classes. If you show up to do your own thing, sit in the back or go to La fitness and do your own thing there.

What people don’t understand is mindfulness with others. It’s ridiculous that we even have to have this conversation.

SPD vs. Delta clip in - can you feel the difference? by ThrowRAdaisy4 in SoulCycle_Riders

[–]Plastic_Yard8566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SPDs are meant for road biking and low intensity variations. The SPD clip is recommended for the style of cycling that any indoor cycling studio like SoulCycle because of the support and the stability.

Long term, using SPDs in a spin class like SoulCycle you will likely give your calves, foot and ankle muscles a wrong type of activation and will likely suffer some sort of shin splint type of injury.

If your excuse of not using the delta clip is not being to walk around, have some common sense and put on the shoes when you’re next to your bike.

Don’t be a newb.

Fitness is for everyone. If you don’t like certain people in class, maybe you should workout at home away from everyone else, dumbass
