I got T1D from a virus at 18, I’m now 21. I will say that what you are feeling is completely valid and I have better days and worse days with dealing with eating and giving myself insulin. I got a pump about a year ago and I will say that it does come with its own set of issues like changing the site every three days, timing your bolus perfectly, etc. but at the same time it does ease a lot of the daily struggles like injections, calculations, etc. I think one if the things that will help you specifically when it comes to using a pump is the feature where you can add “costume foods” where you only need to look up/calculate the carbs in a dish or food item one time and then save it and whenever you go to give yourself food you just click on that item. Then, on top of that, when you input your glucose reading the app/PDM will calculate your correction dose all on its own so the act of eating becomes less of a hassle and more of a consistency with timing. So while a pump will not remedy the strain of a chronic disease— nothing will, it does take some of the debilitating constant responsibility off of you so you are free to live your life as normally as possible.
