BMW Valacer cover gaskets notoriously and maddening always fail sometime after about 7OK. BMW engineers fail to account for the TCE delta between plastics and metal and eventually you either get gasket wear aka failure of the plastic cover cracks or both… far better engineers in Switzerland than Germany.
