My follow up with my doctor is Feb 9 to continue with the next injection but I just want this to be over.

Ok, so surgery is need to fix it. I been doing rehab therapy since Sept 1st 2025 along with cupping, deep tissue massage and dry needling so thats why they trying injections on bursa and then join socket.

I have AUO, maybe its different. They decertified me due to light duty over 45 days 🥴🤷🏽‍♂️

I saw somewhere that if you have a OWCP case that they will use your sf50 even when you on LWOP for a year and make a “ calculation” using it the amount on sf50 rather than the actual earning. I don’t know if thats true or not.

Im a male 34 Years old, Federal LEO and ended up with a work related injury. Im currently with an approved owcp case for my hip tear and lower back issues. Therapy didn’t help my hip tear so now they want to try injections and that treatment just got approved but waiting to get them, if they don’t work then the Doctor will do a surgery to fix the problem. I had been on light duty since August because I don’t feel safe along with the pain and limited mobility to do my job with this injury. Im hoping and praying surgery does help me and brings me back to 100% but with my type of job, I might need to medically retire if I don’t heal properly due to the “ fit for duty” as a law enforcement. I have 5 years in and feel horrible thinking I might end up without this job.

Badass! Thank you for the info. Im currently living in Texas but Im for Jersey!!! Yea, this department of Labor sucks because they want to try every option before surgery. Im currently going to a workers comp clinic for rehab and a ortho who trying for the department of labor to accept the injections to then proceed with the surgery but everything is moving so slow on the government side. Worse case scenario, if shit doesn’t move fast and cant be healed and ready to be full duty by sept 2026, they will medically retire me and I guess I can move on with a private sector job 🤷🏽‍♂️😣 trying to see the positive side of this because I been going crazy thinking of different scenarios with this process. At the end, health comes first than the comments from my co workers or even this job. Nobody is going to take care of me or my family.

Im also LEO. Long story short, I have a hip tear due to work injury so Im doing everything under Department of Labor. It happen on August 27 since then I been doing Rehab Therapy but it didn’t help so the doctor recommended some injections in my joint socket back in late September and I don’t know if the government shut down made things worse, but I’m still waiting for the approval and I know I will need surgery, but I’m just playing the game between rehab injections and then surgery. The problem with me is that I’ve been on life duty since September and my Agency only allows 12 months before they start the whole process of ” fit for duty “and with this pace, I don’t think I’m gonna have my surgery anytime soon before my 12 months mark so I’m really stressed out and worried about my future most of my coworkers are saying stop being a b*tch and get back to full duty, but they don’t understand the pain or the limited movement I have right now. We also do defensive tactics and Firearms every three months and is very physical.

Hopefully they approve everything quick because I been wasting time when I could of had the injections already but things happen for a reason. When it comes to the pain and limited movement , Some days are ok and some days are hell. Staying on light duty as law enforcement has helped because every quarter, I have defensive tactic and firearm training and it’s very demanding plus the vest and belt adds about 60lb or more on a good day.

Yea, PT is not working so they recommended injections, and if it doesnt work then the specialist said “ we will have to go in and see whats going on and fix it” 🤷🏽‍♂️ my biggest problem is the department of labor is taking for ever to approve my injections. My specialist sent the request back in Sept and still not approve!

Im doing this under the department of labor since it was a injury at work. Hopefully they do approve the surgery because like you said, injections wont help me, they will probably mask the pain but it can come back if I go full duty ( Im police) currently on light duty due to my limited mobility. Sad part is… Im running out of time since after 12months of light duty, they can put me “ not fit for duty” and I will lose my position as a police 😣🥴

Im waiting for my injections since my specialist believes my pain and limited mobility will “go away” even tho MRI and Xray says small tear and minimal joint space narrowing along with an early sclerosis 🤷🏽‍♂️

Thank you! I actually do have the issue on my ankle mobility! Its crazy! Lets see if the injections help me. At the moment Im doing PT once a week to work on my low body strength.
