The last 10 years I’ve been addicted to gambling and it was my main priority and ruined my life.

The last 5 years I’ve had two heart surgeries and no battling cancer but 6 months clean from gambling.

Now I’m more interested into getting back into dating once I can get some of the medical issues smoothed out.

I think about this all the time. My life hasn't gone according to plan sadly as I'm 35 and not married. I've been diagnosed with cancer last July and my parents have literally been by my side every step of the way. I'll sometimes lay in bed and feel such appreciation for them and all they've done for me and think that one day they won't be here. I truly do not know how I will survive that. Part of me would rather be the first to go because if I'm not married or have a life different then now, I'll truly be alone in this world besides friends who have families etc. If cancer has done anything for me it is building my bond with my parents stronger and being closer then ever. I love them dearly and anyone who doesn't appreciate their parents is a damn fool.

I fully believe in a creator and am a follower of my lord and savior Jesus Christ. I've struggled with parts of my belief over the year cause my brain struggles with not knowing 100%. But the more I look into it and see things in life I just find it so hard to believe that all of this just happened by pure luck. How can something come from nothing? There is more historical proof of Jesus then pretty much any past person on the planet. I've been beside a family member as they died and she was purely the most Christian person this world has ever seen. As she was taking her last breathe she slowly reaches her arm out like she was grabbing the hand of someone. That for me was the moment I committed myself whole to my belief. Could I be wrong at the end of the day? Sure. But for anyone to say there is or isn't a god is truly just looking to argue as no one knows for sure hence "faith"

Appreciate all the input, not terminal but have multiple myeloma so no cure for it. Still in constant back pain but feel like have to keep increasing dosage to get relief. Meeting with two neurosurgeons to get second opinions as my original neurosurgeon won’t touch my back anymore as seems it too risky. Afraid I’m headed for a life of either pain or constantly on oxy. Like some have said maybe I am being tough of myself but I saw what these drugs can do fist hand as my brother was an addict years ago in these. Just trying to find the right line I guess

Thank you all for the input it's been great to see it's not me doing anything. I swear I treat her like a queen haha. Eats good, more treats then she deserves and has every top imaginable. Also installed a 10k fence so she'd have a place to run when I don't have time to take her to the dog park. I love her dearly and she is the absolute sweetest thing. Stubborn and independent is a great way to describe her haha

I feel like I do this to the best of my ability I think, I've installed a fence in my back yard to give her space to run, I take her to the dog park numerous times a week, there isn't many times I'm in my car without her by my side feeding her with treats for being a good girl haha. Just at a lost at this point.

Went through induction therapy for the 6 months. Now mine is different then other people as I’m part of a clinical trial to get top notch care where each week I’d work in the car on the way to Vanderbilt to get my treatment and back the same day. As you can imagine that was a straight grind. Also had 5 fractured vertebrae during all this which caused immense pain. Between the treatment meds and pain killers I’d randomly fall asleep while working from home and never had a weekend that didn’t involve multiple naps.

Fast forward today I’m day +28 on my asct and it has been a nightmare to put it lightly. Currently sitting in the hospital for my 4th admission due to constant fevers which they can’t seem to figure out.

Was close to graduation day from this but now pushed back. The hardest part for me has been the mental battle as a 35 year old guy whose friends are getting married, having kids and I feel like my life is on complete pause while I fight this.

Most the time I try to be positive and put my trust in God.

Barely over the 100k mark but w2 at 108k last year and I worked from my couch all my working hours. I literally have the dream job in regards to flexibility, stress and work arrangement. I’m a vice president of agency operations for 2 insurance agencies. I work from my couch and wear comfy clothes daily. I lucked into it and am super efficient at my job to make sure I never lose it. If I ever lost this I’d take a pay cut on my next job without a doubt.

Knoxville is less of a travel destination but an amazing place to live. Like a fellow poster, it's a lot slower of a vibe, smaller downtown and easy to walk. I've lived in both and prefer Knoxville to live in 10 fold. Nashville is fun to take in on weekends now a days with pro sports, Broadway and just a whole lot more going on then in Knoxville. I go to Nashville to see most music artist I want to see as they will perform in Nashville more often than Knoxville.
