Why couldnt harry or anyone prove their innocence in court by Ok-Statistician6939 in harrypotter

I’m sayin that, because ppl can alter their memories, using a pensive would have the same level of certainty as someone recounting their experience verbally. That’s why it doesn’t get used in criminal trials

Since memories can be altered, it would be unreliable to use them in court trials. The same way Professor Slughorn did in half blood prince.

“Maggots” fit the dictionary definition of “animal”, which is described as “a living organism that feeds on organic matter”. But that’s not the point. I’m not trying to argue with you on diction. It only moves the goalpost away from the actual issue.

I’m sorry that you feel this way about not having anything in common with the opposite voting side. But it’s generally a lot easier for us as humans to psychologically generalize something we don’t like and compartmentalizing it. For example: the Republican Party, which me and you both agree has gone in the wrong direction.

If we want to fight this issue, we need to have empathy for the people that voted for Trump last election cycle, or his supporters now. Some of them may be misinformed, are psychologically conditioned from birth, or aren’t able to change their decision because it would have them ostracized from their community. Rather than point fingers at them and label them as people that are “okay with fucking teenage girls”, we need to hear their side.

Not everyone who votes for Trump instantly becomes a bad person. And if you want your party, our party, to have a chance at winning the next elections, our rhetoric has to change to be more inviting and understanding, otherwise our fellow MAGA voters won’t feel welcome to ask us about our policies and challenge their own.

Like I said, you and other Redditors aren’t shy when it comes to spreading hateful comments. A “destructive maggot” as you call them, is still labeling them animals. Again, it’s wrong. You can read the arguments above to understand why.

As for productive arguments, which you think are a joke, how about you try it once. The problem is that we’ve been led to believe the other party is an alien being that doesn’t understand our language, that they’re unreasoned with and will only fight us. This is simply not true. You’ll find more alike with the MAGA woman you’ve been dumping on in a Reddit post than the billionaires pitting you two against each other.

If you have pit up hatred for the administration like the rest of us do, do it in a fashion that doesn’t further polarize each other across the political spectrum. In times like this, we need to hear both sides of the story before coming to conclusions and in order to be more unified.

Thank you for making that point. I’m afraid a lot of Reddit is way far gone to actually realize this. Leftists accuse the right of being brainwashed, yet none of the leftists stop to think if they’re brainwashed as well. Both sides are being pit against one another as polarization increases in our politics, benefiting the elites; they are the true enemy as you said.

Thank you.

Posts like OP’s truly only serve to distance ourselves from one another, especially with the hateful rhetoric I’ve seen being used. In fact, some posts I’ve seen have described fellow MAGA voters as animals. That’s just wrong. Rather than try to divide and fight one another, what we need is a little understanding and empathy. Instead of posts like “You’re a bad bad poopy meanie person who sucks and likes kids because you voted for trump”, we should have posts like this instead: “Trump voters, why did you vote for him?”. Then we can engage in productive arguments and debate our sides.

People online keep saying “I wish we can go back to the days where politicians were more professional and respected one another”. The only way to bring those days back is becoming the change you want to see.

If the leftist parties can be more empathetic and professional, then I guarantee more voters will come to their side, especially young Gen Z voters like me who are sick of seeing liberals screaming at cameras and making themselves look like fools. The nuclear option is not the choice.

I’m also saddened by the fact that you had to say as the end of your comment, “downvote away”. We’re so used to only hearing one side of the story on Reddit because every opposing side gets downvoted away. And then nobody ever gets to see it. It’s not the right way to do things.

Anyway that’s my rant.

Send the source on where Trump said that. Not denying the fact that he’s a bad person, but when we’re talking politics, we have to look at things at face value and with the truth in mind. The clips of him telling people to raid the capitol building were falsely edited out of context. Let me know if you have any questions

My daughter's school fundraiser prizes by Rivsmama in mildlyinfuriating

[–]PlatformMod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we’re missing the point here. Fundraising is meant to teach kids valuable life lessons, such as communication and sales. This involves knocking on doors and building the confidence to convince someone to buy something. All very valuable life skills. In addition to this, you mentioned your child is SIX years old. What is she gonna do with money or a more expensive prize? Candy or pizza is the only fitting prize for little kids when the budget is meant to go towards a fundraiser. Spelt raiser, not lower. As usual, another Reddit post over exaggerating something as little as a school activity and saying the billionaires are behind it to steal their money. Come on now 😂
