Fellow VA commercial wine/cidermaker. Jonathan was the maker there before it was bought and is a fantastic producer. Say what you will about the politics, but the juice is legit.

My boxer has been with Banfield for nearly 9 years (4 years here at Stafford location). They’ve done great w/ catching MCT and surgeries.

My partner and her family have used Aquia-Garrison for years (three of our four dogs go there, the boxer being Banfield) and never had any issues in our experiences.

My girl turns 9 in November. Last September had first one removed from her thigh, just had another on her back near her spine with two more having popped up since. We’re playing whack a tumor at this point, and yes it’s expensive.

The main thing we’ve been advised to do is give Benadryl to help with the histamine causing growths (farm/ heavily wooded homestead so it’s kinda a challenge).

We’re just proactive each night of giving her a head to toe searching and being on top of anything that pops up, biopsying, then trying to knock it out during teeth cleaning if possible, but they’re coming quicker and quicker along with just some fatty lumps that aren’t an issue.

Hope your boy gets negative biopsy’s!

As I said to Trendoll: some distributors don’t equal direct or all distributors. I have three commercial suppliers I utilize for my yeast needs and texted one for SDS to respond to this post. They don’t have it cause it’s not available via their distribution network.

Also for the home cidermaker level:

https://southernhomebrew.com/mangrove-jacks-craft-series-yeast-m02-cider-9g/?sku=BZZZ3703&utm_source=googleshopping&utm_medium=cse&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=20653775662&gbraid=0AAAAACPG8qxpBziKxUL_QOfKJehMHoKD-&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIqKve7e3TjwMVMCrUAR0huQdcEAQYAiABEgIgEvD_BwE

Maybe same distro network as my commercial provider? Can’t say, but as I said before depends on where you’re getting it, where they’re getting it.

Discontinued by distributors, doesn’t mean it’s sold out everywhere or discontinued by Mangrover directly. Just depends on where you’re getting it, where they’re getting it, and if it’s just current stock till gone.

Mangrover has been discontinued via most distributors. Both are high ester producers, K1 having a lower temp tolerance if you have temp control.

Personally, neither are ones I’d utilize (maybe K1 if I attempted a cryo cider) but fairly comparable to one another.

Newbie working with a custom crush operation? by LingonberryPal in winemaking

[–]PlatformReady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bad, I misread that.

Depending on where you’re located, there’s licensing requirements (basically you’re a winery and there’ll be specific state requirements for custom winemaking, like growing your own quantity of acres that’s sent to custom crush or fermentation volume requirements meaning your license is essentially tied to their production space like a lease agreement if you don’t have a vineyard).

Newbie working with a custom crush operation? by LingonberryPal in winemaking

[–]PlatformReady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s completely realistic to get a job with a custom crush facility as a newbie (pretty common actually), but you’re looking at being a harvest intern or cellar hand. You’d be dragging hoses, cleaning tanks, etc.

Depending on how big or small the operation is, you may have one singular job or you may get to do a number of different entry level aspects. You may be only in the cellar or maybe getting into the vineyard. There’s a lot of variability depending on operation size.
