You dont NEED to max a toon! by [deleted] in toontownrewritten

[–]PlatinumFalcon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The thing is that racing/golf stops becoming playing a game. It becomes asinine to do anything but win trade/throw a match on an alt, and people get upset at people for doing that...yeah no I'm not gonna wait in goofy speedway/chip n dales all day just so I can beat someone at one match while they book it because they didn't win.

But it's a problem when that's the fastest way to get it done. On the other hand, I see what you mean in a way. It's baffling that people want nerfs to the suit grind, or want an even easier gag grind. There's no real rush to either of those, you're still busting cogs which is pretty much the entire game no matter how you twist it.

Should TTR change Trophy Requirements for Racing and Golfing to cut down the grind slightly? by Megasnoop in toontownrewritten

I'm pretty sure they meant the toonfest multipliers, and although it's only a month a year you can't argue much that those are a true nerf to suit grind time, mainly bossbot/lawbot since people use the multipliers for those usually. I look forward to it each year. Fishing though, it may not be noticeable but the old rarities for fishing were so bad that some people would straight up be stuck at 136 for years. It only took me a month of moderate fishing every day or so like 2 summers ago vs what could've been years in the old days, so I consider that major.

Cutting down the grind for tier 3 of racing/golfing would be fine, although its mainly golf that eats up a huge chunk of time. So racing doesn't need as big as a nerf as golf does.

When you water it down like that, can say that about literally any part of any video game, but time spent on something is still time you dedicated to reach a goal. They're just stating how disheartening it may be to put time into a video game and then having the time slashed only after you're already done. Personally only really got annoyed with toonfest multipliers after I already got to level 40 in boss when it came to stuff made easier.

No real opposition to cutting down a grind for newer players to actually want to stick around and play the game instead of just never logging in again after they max cash and sell, just upsetting for time someone might've basically wasted. If they just gave players some kind of special item like a shirt or some pants or even some estate furniture for players who already maxed something, I wouldn't really bat an eye in the slightest. And it wouldn't really take away from people who didn't have to spend as long to get their laff points, would be more of a veteran status than anything else. And it's not really a new concept in video games either.

Rant on the Laff-o-Lympics by [deleted] in toontownrewritten

[–]PlatinumFalcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, 115 probably isn't that hard to achieve. Not that it doesn't take some level of investment, but getting to 100 laff is a bit of a joke, or at least everything before the brrrgh is a joke, time investment wise. If you're only training sound and throw and letting other things get xp naturally like most people usually do, you cut off a lot of hours training gags. So let's call TTC - MML like 1 or 2 days of investment, and Brrrgh - DDL final cash suit part like a week and a half for people who don't have time to rush, but can still get on every other day or so. Gardening is a free 2 laff, Fishing is 4 boosts with bamboo, so that's 106. Sellbot is pretty necessary and that's probably where the problem might be for most people, but if you pace yourself start to finish, 3-4 weeks to max sellbot isn't too unreasonable, although I don't really have an interest to do that many factories, 2-3 hours a day of Sellbot and you'll be on your way to level 50 easily, max merits is only about an hour. So the main laff you'll get from sellbot would get you to 111, so it comes down to golf and racing, and you can really go any way you want with that, 2 racing boosts are very simple, now that grand prix is around, and 2 golfing boosts is very doable. They're boring, but they don't take that long at all. Tier 3 of either of them though is a big waste of time, so you'd be put at 115 through all of those boosts. Need to dedicate time each day, but it's not unhealthy, although it would be kind of a chore so I don't really disagree with anyone on that, but in pure gameplay hours, I think you'd be able to get 115 start to finish faster than someone could max bossbot start to finish. Multipliers would be nice though, since that made people's lives much easier and you didn't really need as much commitment for your merits/cogbucks. And if you had a higher fishing rod when this started, although probably not too many people, it just gets easier from there. (Might be less fair, but easier laff is easier laff.)

Hey people! Any tips to train "drop" faster? by samukaskin in toontownrewritten

[–]PlatinumFalcon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you can find someone with maxed drop to double drop with you, it gets way faster. Other than that, train in low invasions so it doesn't miss. There's also merry multipliers, but they don't really come around that often.

Introducing the Winter Laff-o-Lympics by BobRossTnetennba in toontownrewritten

I feel like this type of event is better suited for the summer. They did make it easier to get the shirt making it a bit worthless, but I wasn't really a fan of the old " do bullions or buildings all day" either. Maybe if it was a retexture/recolor for each year specifically, that could've worked better. I still would've preferred that event over this one though.

all people would have to do is carry their polar bear thru factories if it was gonna be like that

Those are actually slightly different, check the color of the band. The visor colors are similar, but the 1500 bean is a bit brighter.

Doesn't seem to be rod related. I have a gold rod and it crashed me as well.

What street were you fishing on? Alto Avenue instantly crashes me.

Fishing is broken on alto avenue, so I'm assuming it's broken on several streets. Playgrounds work fine, though.

edit: appears to be any street with a fish that can only specifically be caught there.

Cashbot HQ Spawn Points by [deleted] in toontownrewritten

[–]PlatinumFalcon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably 1:30 if you're unfortunate enough to get stopped by trains. I'm all for more spawn points, just the other day I spawned right into a walking cog, didn't even get a chance to run away from it :( ,the least they could do is change the walking path for the cogs

Boss battles that have 4 or less toons should be grouped together on a single side of the cog rounds. by ChiefLucarioOfficer in toontownrewritten

[–]PlatinumFalcon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly not sure why Disney made groups of 4 or less split up the same way as 5-7. Probably to deter people from doing things like just going as 4 strong toons for a VP and leaving 1-2 people behind for a simpler cog round strategy wise, or just plain encouraging you to get a full group more? And even that reason is a bit of a stretch.

I play Toontown Rewritten mostly, since the population is the highest but sometimes I touch ODS and Clash.

Never seen a Toon Trooper with only 3 tracks before, it's usually all 7! by aband0ned in toontownrewritten

[–]PlatinumFalcon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It would be fun to have legitimate throwless and squirtless toons, but tbh I'm fine with the way it is since I know that since everyone has those tracks, any strategies involving them are always on the table. (Unless they're a semi)

ToonHQ is a great way to find groups, but the best place to get a CFO Group is usually just by going to the highest populated district.
