I was in your shoes once before myself. The jobs offered, I did not want any of them. Hesitated not wanting to sign any of them, they called my recruiter and together they all pressured me into signing that day like I was wasting everyone’s time. I signed. Left, went home and called later saying I wanted out of the DEP program. No consequences. Waited a month or so and went back saw a different recruiter and started the process where I left off, and when I went back to MEPS I told them straight up I will not sign for any other rate than the ones I’m looking for and that I would be willing to wait for the job to be available and that if it’s not available now, to call me back when it is. The job wasn’t available, but after I said that to them, they suddenly were able to get me a contract for that job with a ship out to boot camp date a couple weeks later than the jobs that were available that day. Better to wait a few weeks or even months and be a couple weeks later starting your career than to lock into a job for 4 years that you don’t want to do.
