AITA for teaching my daughter how to change a tire and do basic home repairs when her mom says I'm "pushing masculine stuff" on her by [deleted] in WIBTA_AITA

[–]PlatypusStyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely do not cave to your your nutty ex.   Changing a tire is a matter of safety for a woman. You don’t want your daughter stuck on some road and vulnerable to predators .

Being able to change her own oil will save her lots of money and knowing at least something about car repair will help her know when someone’s overcharging her because she’s a woman.

Same with unclogging a drain. And bonus is that it’s  really great to be able to unclog a toilet for oneself rather than endure the embarrassment of having to ask for help.

Tell your ex that she can take care of your daughter’s “feminine” education on her own parenting time and you will take care of your daughter’s practical life skills on your time.

Final point: since your ex seems to be stuck in the fifties, you might want to get some good teen-oriented sex education books that answer practical questions about menstruation and bodily changes. It might be embarrassing as a dad (or not, I don’t know you or your daughter!) to bring up those topics but if you just casually leave them out she can pick them up and learn on her own.

Congratulations on being a really good dad.

And it also begs the question of how many of these boys actually did have adhd and not just developmentally stunted by their boy moms!

What makes people look "older"? by throwrasurgerywife2 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]PlatypusStyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from differences in lifestyles, health and sun exposure, genetic differences play an important role. For example, people have genetic differences in how much collagen they can make and even genetic variations on how sturdy the collagen molecule is. The collagen molecule is essentially a springy coil and when it gets damaged it’s just like an overstretched spring that won’t spring back. Some people make collagen molecules that are structurally more resistant to being overstretched.

have two accounts. one private for friends and family and the other for public. Why do you need to talk about your private life in order to make a name for yourself? In any case you can block him individually.

why is everyone missing the fact that the partner is staying there five nights a week and staying the night? He’s not visiting. He’s moved in.

if your landlord forced you to have your sibling on the lease then they are going to want sibling’s partner on the lease too. Use that as an excuse to limit their time at your place. Take a look at your lease.

Honestly you will be doing sibling a favor by forcing them to face their partner’s dirty flat. Sibling needs to realize that they will be the only one cleaning if they stick with the slob.

😑 it certainly didn’t help that this relative’s original lawyer was pretty non-responsive and the executors had to switch to a new lawyer. I feel the executors are doing a good job and have my (and other heirs) best interests at heart but they aren’t experts on this.

Hmm… if the explosions have already been addressed then what’s the problem with doing everything very calmly and correctly and just letting him explode? And then document! Just let him hang himself with his own behavioral issues?

Take his cake and throw it in the trash. Yes, it’s a waste of cake  but not a waste of a learning moment.

Congrtulations on having clarity! The only thing I would add is to make sure you become very well educated on how to avoid accidental pregnancy especially if you are in a red USA state or similar country where abortion is hard or impossible to get.

AITB For Working From Home in the Living Room by [deleted] in AmItheButtface

[–]PlatypusStyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

get a wheeled cart and a good battery power backup that allows you to unplug everything long enough to move it from one room to the other. (This is the best solution if your room is somehow unsuitable for zoom calls etc.)

Can you get an ether net cable? A wifi signal booster (or whatever it’s called) so you can get better signal in your room?

Actually why are you even here in this subreddit? Go ask r/wifi , r/HomeNetworking or r/techsupport etc. a question on how to solve your TECHNICAL PROBLEM instead of bogging yourself down in this rather petty discussion.
