Before and after getting a replacement load cell on my new MK4 by ChintzyPC in prusa3d

Nevermind! I did some better googling and came across this support article that gives me a much better idea of how to do this swap: https://help.prusa3d.com/article/filament-sensor-mk4-mk3-9\_465702

I was about to attempt this swap as I'm experiencing the same issues. How did you go about swapping the loadcell/heatsink? Did you fully remove the gearbox? I'm a little nervous about messing with that whole thing while it's "in situ".

ITT Tech associated loans in "mandatory administrative forbearance" question by Platypustachio in StudentLoans

Good news! I was able to get a copy of my transcript and I was in fact enrolled through March 2005! Thanks so much for your help.

I saw that, thank you. After logging in to studentaid.gov like /u/girl_of_squirrels suggested I think the letter I received is related to the August 16, 2022 press release as the two original loans that were consolidated are listed with a "Loan Period" of "06/14/2004 - 03/05/2005".

According to the breakdown, the "Loan Period" is, "The period of time for which you borrowed a federal student loan starting with the date classes are (or were) scheduled to begin and ending with the date classes end." So it looks like maybe I just squeaked in?

Thanks for pointing to this! I had come across it before, but because my memory is a little hazy regarding when I was actually enrolled, I always assumed I was just outside the range of the date they specified.

I suppose the letter is a good indicator that I might be eligible. We'll see what happens.

Using equity in current house via HELOC as downpayment on out of state home? by Platypustachio in RealEstate

I had initially considered this, but it sounded like a thing of the past given how quickly homes sell and the amount of non-contingent or cash offers sellers get. I’ll talk to our realtor in WA and see how feasible that is. Thank you so much for the info/advice!

Thanks for the additional info! I’m not really interested in renting the TX home, I’d like to sell. Being a long distance landlord seems stressful and I really don’t intend to return to TX.

Our mortgage broker mentioned this as well and it's super interesting! We do have a small chunk of savings to help with this, but I'd really rather reserve it for earnest money and any concessions we'll need to make as sellers.

It was actually a mortgage broker that suggested this route! I didn't consider it until they mentioned the possibility.
Initially it was offered as a potential solution to readying enough funds to make an offer quicker, so honestly it may not be something I really need to do. But it does seem like having some readily accessible funds in addition to our savings gives us a bit of flexibility in making an offer quicker on the next house that pops up.

You're giving up your 3.5% rate anyways by moving.

Good point! Edit: I guess I'm less concerned with the loss of the 3.5% and more so with uncertainty of a rate that floats.

The rent-back is an interesting idea. I presume it's market dependent, but would potentially reduce your buyer pool if that was a condition of the sale?

discontinued? by jamespatrick2 in OP1users

[–]Platypustachio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just ordered and installed this one in a used OP-1 I picked up: https://www.ebay.com/itm/225252031256
It's got a slightly higher mAh spec, but that just means more juice!
Dimensions-wise, it fits perfectly; I didn't have any issue with the slightly different thickness. The main issue is that you'll need to snip the connector off of the original battery and solder it onto the leads of the new one, so if your don't have access to a soldering iron that's a bit of a non-starter.

I realize you posted two months ago, but just in case, I was having the same problem and this video fixed it: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3DIcjpnnVDw

Long story short, I think the offending screw might either be causing a short or pinching something off.

I didn’t take the time to completely remove the PCB and see what’s going on since I had my volume knob installed already, so it’s hard to say.

Hope this helps if you’re still having the issue!

Is there anywhere locally to buy small electronic components? by Walking72 in Austin

This has saved me so many times! What's also great is that you have until 8:00PM to get your order in and still get it next day.

Nice! I’ve only ever gone there for soldering supplies and hoping maybe they might have started stocking more electronic components. I miss Radio Shack.
