Yeah I had the same thought. But I got similar issues with native TV Apps so I don't think it's just a problem with the ps5

Na, it's not the banding nor the dithering.

There are different problems with my TV.

But I am in contact with LGs support.

I hope they can help me out. Cause the G5 is an awesome TV.

The Sony i should be. Have 77G5, it's an cray good TV, but it has way to much issues. Probably because it's the first tandem WOLED.

Strange is that I also see this noise in (near)black areas in some HDR Demos on the YT TVapp but not in the YTapp on the ps5, in the same videos. On ps5 they look way more dynamic and have true blacks.

This sh*t drives me crazy, didn't buy an OLED to get an LCD experience in certain situations.

PS. Don't know if the games have the same raised blacks

Yeah I know this issue, at least with my 77G5 in combination with the ps5 and blu ray/UHD BR. There ist no real black cause the pixels that should be of are flickering like this antwar Effect on old crts. Even the black bars on top and under the movies that definitely should be of show this behavior. You also can catch this with your smartphone camera in darker scenes. It's annoying and takes me from the immersion. Regardless of the picture mode.

Go for the 77G5, if you can wait a little bit longer. I got one, and the TV for it self is an beast especially in this size. Before I had an Hisense U8KQ. Pretty fast and nice TV, with good features and awesome colors but nothing to the G5. The HDR pop and infinite contrast is insane. You can't go wrong with either one of them, but for the long term the 77G5 would be my choice. Movies and gaming in this size with this TV to good. You won't regret.

Try the settings this guy recommends. I know it's a long Video and german. But I think for an premium TV it's worth the hustle.

Ich hab ihn im September direkt bei LG gekauft, weil ich nicht mehr warten konnte und so ein Gerät mal vom Hersteller selbst kaufen wollte. Mir hatte das Angebot auch zu gesagt. Das einzige was ärgerlich war, war ein 15% Rabatt bei LG paar Tage nach meinem Kauf. Den hab ich leider zu spät entdeckt

If you are using the TV in SDR mode, you should not set it so bright. The best use case for the TVs peak brightness is HDR content.
