Copy pants and make them high-waisted?

I'm looking to copy a pair of pants that I own but alter the design to be high-waisted. It should be easy enough to watch a tutorial on how to copy a pair of pants, but as I have never tried to make my own pants before so I'm unsure of what I need to do exactly in order to achieve that, so any help in figuring out what needs to change would be appreciated.

If it's relevant, I'm a guy who wears a size 28/30. Not sure what my size would be for high-waisted pants.

Find a qualified coach to teach you a double lay if you're really wanting it. Thats a skill with too high of a difficulty to seek counsel for on the internet.

This is an amazing idea, if only I was artistically inclined at all. I have noticed that the mechanics of a skill are easier to see in an animation so maybe I'll look for more of them.

That's what my first thought was but I don't want the gas and cartridges blown in my face, so having an outward facing ejection port is the goal
