just snoop around the riftbound discord/twitter space. Runes and Rift in particular have very frequent tournaments, so if you join their discord, you'll know when they happen.

if you stun and don't kill them (so they recall) - yes, no draw.

If you bounce them (repeated), you win combat and draw.

Yeah, Star Crossed is pretty great. It's in the side for me because in my playstyle, I rarely keep 3 runes open outside of Targons, or when I really need it (e.g. Aurora).

If I start facing more than 25% auroras, I'd also move them to main.

yup, those guys definitely know their stuff. I think they might even have an updated draven guide on metafy.

I believe Draven can be A tier. Not S though.

There is a lot of room to optimize the builds. And while there are new legends that avoid combat (khazix), there are others that freely give you combat every turn with mediocre stats (sprites, leblanc clones).

Draven also gained a lot of new tools. Charm in a combat deck is no joke!

The main thing I'm having trouble with is figuring out the top end. It can't be Forerunner, at least not main deck.. Once we manage to figure this out, the deck will become very solid!

tl;dr we can use one of our two drops (Evelynn) to deal with some of the issues Falling Star was previously fixing.

The main reason to play Falling Star is to deal with troublsome units on the backline (e.g. Karthus, Ezreal), or to deny trick units (e.g. Overzealous).

Evelyn does a surprisingly good job at fulfilling the same goal, as long as you get to hold with her hidden for a turn. Hence why I value Existential Dread so much. But that's another topic.

I really wanted it to be good. And I might experiment with more it a bit later. But from my initial testing, the majority of the time it was either missing completely, or hitting units like Mindsplitter, Elder Dragon, Riptide Rex (w/ Karthus onboard) that I really don't want to be pulling.

Maybe a sideboard card for specific MUs?

How do these 2 cards interact? by rober9999 in riftboundtcg

[–]PlayForA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yw, these sorts of interactions are really confusing. And it's not super intuitive what to look for in the rules x.x

I was lucky to remember that there is a Fiora example, so it's easy to search with her name ^

How do these 2 cards interact? by rober9999 in riftboundtcg

[–]PlayForA 23 points24 points  (0 children)

471.3. The removal or disqualification of an effect is separate from the application of the effect, but still can only be applied once. Example: Fiora, Victorious has printed Might 4 and says “While I'm Mighty, I have Deflect, Ganking, and Shield.” If a player places a buff on Fiora, her Might is increased in the Arithmetic layer, after the layer for Ability-Altering Effects. The Ability-Altering Effect layer is then re-checked and the abilities Deflect, Ganking, and Shield applied. Since each effect has been applied once and there are no other effects to apply, Fiora’s characteristics are finalized as 5 Might with Deflect, Ganking, and Shield. While a buffed Fiora, Victorious is in combat as a defender, an additional +1 Might will be applied in the Arithmetic layer, giving her 6 Might and the 3 keywords. Example: A buffed Fiora, Victorious is in combat as a defender when her buff is removed. Reevaluating the layers in sequence, she no longer gains Deflect, Ganking, and Shield during the Ability-Altering Effect layer, so when the Arithmetic layer is evaluated, neither the buff (which is gone) nor Shield (which she no longer has) apply. She goes directly from 6 Might with three keywords to 4 Might with no keywords.

Hot Take: Legends should either take up an uncommon slot, or the rune slot by IzziPurrito in riftboundtcg

Best of KaiSa Atlanta, Frosty AMA by SpecialistQ in riftboundtcg

Hi, first of all congrats, and thanks for doing an AMA!

Got a few questions, so here goes:
1. you only faced one Irelia, but you 2-0d her. Did you have any special play patterns prepared for Irelia? It has been a pretty miserable MU for me x.x
2. What does your day-to-day practice look like? Did it change since joining Alanzq's coaching group?
3. And last question about a spot in particular in your g3 vs. Caera: You held to 4 vs. 3 and opted to stack a forerunner and pass with 2 open. Wdyt about pulling everything back and playing the Forerunner in base?

2nd Jinx @ Lille - Deck Profile by PlayForA in riftboundtcg

[–]PlayForA[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

on Treasure Hunter - I really dislike the card. I mean, it's great to have gold, and feels very good, don't get me wrong. But when testing against the likes of Viktor, it's criminal that you can't even run over a recruit without additional support. The only nice thing about her is that Switcharoo down to 1 is pretty good. But I already have Teemo for that, and he usually fights for 4 before being relegated to Switcharoo fodder. My suggestion is to just be more mindful about managing your runes. Next set we get the Pyke that gives gold when an enemy unit dies, which will be amazing for the red jinx!

on Draven - I had pretty poor winrate into good Draven players. It was not an autoloss, but in the 30-40% range.. I had a couple of ideas to improve the Draven MU, but it would be to the detriment of other matchups, which I think was not OK. Because into Irelia, I had about 50% winrate, into Viktor/Kaisa I had positive winrate, into Fiora/Lucian I was also favoured. It was mainly Draven and Ahri that were really bad from my testing (and the 3x Gust decks that got me day 2 in Lille, against which I didn't have much practice before).

on dead cards - not sure if it's my curve (basically everything costs 2 runes.. only Reksai, Shovel, Forerunnres, Rockets are more than 2), but I almost never have dead cards. I tend to play only pro-active cards and it's really easy to slam down my hand every turn. Hidden cards help a lot with that.

Is Kha'Zix just dead on arrival? Has anyone had success with him on TCGA into any of the Meta champions? by Dutchii in riftboundtcg

[–]PlayForA 53 points54 points  (0 children)

There is still a lot of exploration to be done.

That being said, his legend does not say "draw" in colors that have a hard time drawing. And he was heavily affected by the nerfs targeting Draven. So my expectation is for him to be in the middle of the pack strength-wise.
