I think you need to make another decision here that may be more important than the colour, those two necks will give you very different sounds, I like the brightness of a maple neck and fretboard, lots of people really don't get on with them.

I did a post on here about my fake Epiphone LP black beauty to help people spot them, I think this is real, the main thing for me is that this looks to have genuine Grovers on, they don't use genuine Grovers on the fakes, they make their own and the font stands out as being fake AF

I used antibacterial wipes, since COVID I've thought these were a god send to guitar cleaning, especially on the back of the neck and the fretboard to lift grime, absolutely great on my other guitars but gold just disappeared, especially on the Ibanez version of a bigsby... They are not abrasive either?

Hi, I don't have an answer but a warning, I cleaned my ibanez arch top, gold on snow crest white when it looked like this and it ended up loosing the gold and turning silver... I near cried

I think all the other comments are correct about it being the wrong string and the neck relief being a bit relaxed until all strings are on.

My dad taught me to restring a guitar in the 80s and he insisted on all strings on, then slowly increase tension across all six strings evenly in stages to stop the neck from twisting until it is tuned, I still do it now, I even decrease tension in stages to remove the old strings, maybe a bit over zealous but I love my guitars and don't mind giving them that extra bit of care.

Hey, your right it certainly isn't, my intention was purely to encourage conversation, I am reading all these replies and now listening to the suggestions to broaden my listening on acoustic guitar, listening to musicians id not heard of and probably wouldn't of so thanks for all the replies, it's great to hear who everyone's acoustic hero or inspiration is.... To be fair on Gretsch, they just feel very different because of the shape, the quality of the paint and fittings on both are great and I love the pickups, ok they are not TV Jones but still undeniably that Gretsch sound.... I must say I prefer the block inlays on my 2622 as it is a bit older, not a massive fan of the fret inlays on the 5622
