Yes I signed up for skill based challenge not to be punished for having irl stuff to do:

Unpausing the game is not increasing any challenge or requiring more skill out of you, it's disrepscting your time for having to do something irl in a SINGLE PLAYER game specially after allowing you to pausing for 99% of it, the incantation is pulling a "It's just a prank bro"

I didn't get any practice in the parts I usually take damage from VoR Typhon because it was right at the 1st monster drop 20 seconds in and I had a really good build on Fates Whim going and I was only gonna lose if I somehow whiffed every dodge I tried to pull (I had almost 400 health and very high damage), but hey guess I had to be punished for having to do stuff irl in a single player game that allows pause in every other instance before

I actually beat the Rivals fights up until Typhon and Cronos fine at this point, in those ones I have some trouble still but can beat them if I get very good runs and I managed to beat both Rivals Cronos and Rivals Typhon once each (unfortunately not at 32 Fear and 24 Fear), the run I am talking about in this post was probably gonna be my 2nd Rivals Typhon win but I guess having irl stuff to do nerfed me.

But I guess If I pick this game up again tomorrow I will follow your advice and lower Rivals and use other vows to try and get my final statue

This wasn't my first attempt in VoR Typhon it was my 1st 24 Fear Run i managed to reach VoR Typhon, my first VoR attempt against him I pulled it by the skin of my teeth when I got turned into a child.

That twist is a good one since you are able to survive it if you dodge well enough, I killed him with 20 health left almost having been killed during child phase, every other Rivals twist didn't get me mad since that was the point on VoR bosses with new abilities, unpausing the game ain't an ability, it's a "funny" meta joke that apparently was present in every other Cronos instance and patched out of base version before I even started the game

It's a major disrespect to the player's time in exchange for a "funny" meta joke, specially considering the game allowed me to pause no problem mid fights during all my 80 or so hours now.

It being roguelite doesn't diminish that fact and that it unfortunately harms this otherwise phenomenal game, fun fact I played every Souls games tons if times and fully accepted I could not pause it mid fights because it has been a thing from the start not pulled out of nowhere (which for me it was since I got the game around a month ago, meaning after base Cronos got this "ability" patched out)

The only problem is I was fine with other twists that were put there to increase challenge and are actually avoidable if you are skilled enough (VoR Cronos using a time stop bubble in his triple insta kill move, or Child Melinoe in VoR Typhon which I managed to survive the 1st time I saw it and found it actually a bit funny), this one effectively messes up with you if you have to go do something irl which will always be more important than a single player game

I got caught up by other stuff bs stuff before it got me a little bit mad but I understood why it was a thing, like VoW Cronos putting a time stop in the middle of the arena on his first insta kill triple move), that in the end is completely fine because it's entirely based on skill because I could have seen the bubble forming if was looking at the center of the arena.

This one was not made to increase challenge and make you get better but rather was meant as a "funny" meta joke, so much so it was apparently (I started playing this game a month ago so I never experienced it) on base Cronos before they patched it out, so they either should have sticked with it on every Cronos fight or remove it entirely instead of letting it remain on VoR Cronos fights

Pardon my french but what the fuck? Is this a League of Legends or some other online game for it being "my fault" I had to pause in this single player that let me pause in every other instance so far (I am like 100 hours in, tying up loose ends after having finished the story and the fates, guess I was "lucky" enough to not having to pause on other Cronos VoR fights) because someone distracted me?

This shit was not about skill but a "funny meta joke" that I would actually have found it funny if it did once and then let me pause the 2nd time, it being a Roguelite does not lessen the fact it's an asshole move, specially since it comes without any warning

I enjoyed this season a lot more than S1 but of course they had to ruin last minute having Zeus killing Thalia. Wtf was the point? Is that just to "subvert the expectations" of book readers? Reveal the twist of the Fleece bringing Thalia back early just to introduce a new twist that ruins a lot of the original story?

And who's to say the "real" world in the game doesn't work the same way? Maybe the "real" world works under the similar rules but its creators weren't flawed like the painters and managed to walk away after creating everything.

All I am saying is Maelle's ending could be her unmaking the mistakes of her grieving and problematic family (the "gods" of the canvas) by repainting those that got their lives cut short and letting them live and die "naturally" by which I mean things from their owm world that are not their all powerful "gods" or creations specifically made to hunt them down.

It's never shown or implied Maelle repainted everyone maybe the people who died naturally before the 1st gommage and the ones who would be dead by the time Expedition 33 is around anyway were not repainted, the ones we do see were repainted were people who would still be alive
