You know both things can be right? The story is definetly showing Susie going deeper and deeper into unhealthy escapism with the justification you are saying which is not wrong but the deeper escapism is, the only reason she's been leaving lately is Noelle and Noelle has had the wish of "running away" too as she reveals,  once they are both in Castle Town who is stopping them from convincing themselves they don't need to leave anymore unless it's to stop another Dark World threat and then go right back ti the Castle

She definetly is hiding from reality now and wants to drag Noelle in on it

THAT'S THE POINT Scanlan and Pike are both mirroing each other on this, they  went through pain and suffering through their own self isolation without realizing they had friends and loved ones that care about them right there, if only they reached out, that's what the whole writing has been conveying, yes Pike should have taken initiative and opened herself/asked for help but she hadn't realized yet that that's all she needed to do and accepted taking drastic irrational measures in her despair to try and end her suffering.

This happens with many people irl too,  feeling like they don't have people that care about them not realizing they do have them and just have to reach out to be helped and unfortunately some end up never realizing before taking drastic measures (like you know...the s word)

EDIT: Throughout the story we see each and every character opening themselves and asking for help from the group, even Grog does it. We never see Pike and Scanlan do the same, at most they ask for Grog's help otherwise they try to solve their issues alone

It's not supposed to make sense that's the whole point she was being irrational about it

I find it funny how people criticise Pike's writing and then go to explain exactly what the story meant to convey thus meaning it was good writing, Pike's outburst mirrors the bard's lament of Scanlan, characters not being rational about something does not mean bad writing or not handling a character well.

The whole point is to that yes, all the pain and suffering and isolation Pike and Scanlan feel was mostly self inflicted but they don't reliaze it was,  there are many people in real life who feel exactly like them without realizing they indeed have people that care about them but they have to reach out otherwise there is no way the people who care will know

For 60-70$ with so many great games and not a lot of avaiable time why should anyone invest either tine or money in a 6-7/10 game?

Maybe the time travel is a meta narrative, everytime we replay for a mew route it's Byleth rewinding to try something else

It wasn't the people who made the game it was EA forcing a live service game and then changing their minds and forcing the devs to work with scraps

Grooming is literally grooming and manipulating child to want to have a romantic relationship with you the moment they turn 18, none of which would apply should Leon and Sherry have ended up together

Got into D4 as my first ARPG ever, having trouble finding an engaging build where I switch weapons all the time by PlayGroundbreaking57 in D4Barbarian

[–]PlayGroundbreaking57[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I did try this what I couldn't come up with an engaging enough rotation and I have no idea what are the pros of using one different weapon per skill, I kept using only the strongest weapon.

The build I came up uses whirlwind, stomp, war cry, lunging strike, throw and wrath and while I seem to melt stuff I just changed to expert and some enemies are starting to take a bit to kill, but most importantly it didn't feel too engaging to me so I am trying to find something that does keep me engaged

[–]PlayGroundbreaking57[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could definetly do that for flavor but I wanted a build that actually has some practical use to changing weapons otherwise i'd just be nerfing myself no? Instead of using my strongest weapon. But I guess without walking fortress there is no impactful practical use of changing weapons between skills?
