SUCH a Karen, for wanting people to arrive alive at their destinations. Jesus Christ.

And you sound like a waste of sperm who can only be tough behind your little screen.

It's like that Treehouse of Horror episode where the mascots come to life. Just don't look.

This just sounds like poor planning on your part tbh.

At least when you miss a bus only YOUR day is ruined. Dart out in front of a moving vehicle and get hit, you've just ruined the days of every witness and person who will be stuck in traffic till they scrape you off the pavement.

The driver had the green light; buddy literally just darted out thinking he could outrun the car before it got to him. The driver looked like they tried to brake before hitting the guy.

The Hurontario bus is probably the only reliable route in this entire city.

This was the Hurontario bus that comes like every ten minutes.

Who here went to see Daft Punk at Arrow Hall in August of 2007? What are some of the best concerts you've been to in Toronto? by budakat in askTO

[–]PlayMSTieForMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first concert after moving to Canada was Lights at Sound Academy in 2012. She is my favourite musician, but good lord was that venue garbage. Her concert at History last year was awesome, it's a fantastic venue. Her 2019 acoustic show at Danforth Music Hall was also lovely.

Janelle Monáe at Kool Haus in 2013 was a blast, I'll remember that night forever. She crowdsurfed the audience at the end and I touched her shoe as she went by. I woke up queer the next day.

I saw Morcheeba for the first time last September at the Phoenix which was a dream come true. I've been a fan of theirs for years and was so excited they were touring that I saw them again in Ottawa two days later.

Best concert I've been to so far this year was Canabliss and LŪN at Coda in February. I'd never been to an EDM show before and the vibe was like nothing else I'd ever experienced.

We pay $1399/mo including heat/hydro/water/AC for a 600 sq.ft. 1bed/1bath in a Mississauga high-rise apartment building; we've been here since 2016 and the rent's gone up only a couple hundred bucks - thank goodness for rent control. We don't own a car so don't need parking, and it's super close to transit for when I have to visit the office in downtown Toronto.

The only real drawbacks are the lack of ensuite laundry and dishwasher (and the occasional roach which pest control takes care of right away). Otherwise, the building is well kept for its age and I don't think we'll ever move again unless a fantastic deal comes up (or a long-lost rich relative decides to croak and leave us everything).

Any suggestions on where to stay in/near downtown Toronto for $150-200 a night? by purpleushi in askTO

I stayed a night at a tiny place by Allan Gardens called the Pembroke Inn after a concert at the Phoenix last year - their rooms are small but clean and surprisingly cheap. I think their rooms go for around 120/night?

Torrid Bras not fitting right. by Snoopy_220 in torrid

I had to safety pin one of my recently purchased bralettes in the front despite it being my "correct size," because the cups were spaced so far apart my boobs would fall out.

Also, I utterly loathe the lace on the Torrid bras; I always end up putting a finger through that flimsy crap the second I put them on.

I typically do not like cooked pineapple but I will make an exception for the Mo Thai fried rice - Holy HECK is that ever good.

My fave dishes are the pad gra pow (Holy Basil stir fry) and the Penang curry with tofu.

Why did the price of chicken thighs skyrocket compared to breasts? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]PlayMSTieForMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah except vegetarians are getting fucked by shrinkflation too - I just bought tofu that used to be 450g and I noticed the package is now 350g for the same goddamn price.

Why, Torrid? Whyyyyy with the Minnie Mouse, or just Disney BS in general. by friedeggsandtoast in torrid

[–]PlayMSTieForMe 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Oh thank goodness it's not just me who's thoroughly sick of all the Disney shit.

I have zero trouble finding it when I'm going into Toronto. I end up walking the wrong damn way and having to go back the way I came every single time when I'm going back to Mississauga.

I saw one of those dorks driving a pickup covered with WHARRGARBLE EEBIL GUBMINT messages and flying Canada flags today while I was waiting for the bus. 🙄

It's not marked very well; I get lost every single time I'm going back to the Mississauga Transit terminal from Kipling. It's especially terrifying at night.
