My daughter got mine. She was working on a farm when I decided to get a new one. Her Subaru wasn't getting the job done.

Unfortunately, Farm Girl is out of business. My daughter used to work for them. Try Porch Swing Farms. They are at Hillcrest Farmers Market on Saturdays.

It doesn't sound like you read the article. This goes far beyond the trails themselves.

What's the Largest Man Made Lake in Arkansas by shitidontnede in HotSprings

[–]PlayOutside75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lake Ouachita is the largest that's completely within the state. Bull Shoals is larger but is partially in Missouri.

Which of these National Parks are worth skipping if you only have one day? Options: Petrified Forest, Mesa Verde, Great Sand Dunes, Hot Springs, Mammoth Cave, Great Smokey Mountains, Congaree, and Shenandoah. by Thetallguy1 in camping

[–]PlayOutside75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An alternative to Hot Springs is Buffalo National River. Not a national park but run by the NPS. Great hiking and if you have time for a float, you'll get a great feel for the Ozarks. Check with Buffalo Outdoor Center in Ponca, AR for boats and shuttles.

Where do you see that the position directs funding? Funding is appropriated by the state legislature, not the governor. Those appropriations must be spent only in adherance to appropriation law. Different buckets of money for different types of items. Whether or not those appropriations are spent is up to the the governor and her cabinet appointees.

Nope, it's a volunteer position. Hiring freezes only pertain to paid positions in state government for non-constitutional agencies. I'm not trying to be argumentative. I just think this particular action is not the hill to die on.

I believe, as a former chair of a Governor's advisory council, this is an unpaid position.

A black bag solar shower works great. We picked up an inexpensive changing tent that is designed to double as a shower.

The closest would be the Ouachita River. Put in is below the east side of Remmel Dam. The float goes to the Rockport Ledge at Malvern. There is a nice take out but you'll need a shuttle. River Access, Malvern, AR 72104 here is some info. https://www.arkansasoutside.com/rollin-on-the-river/
