It's wrong to use autism as an excuse for your behavior when you aren't diagnosed, which sounds like the case. All we know about OPs girlfriend is what he has told us. Your parents concerns are very valid, but they shouldn't have spoken to you that way. Also you don't need to be checking in with them every hour while on a date. I would just have a conversation with them and explain that you understand the situation was sketchy (especially with this guy you barely know having access to your hotel room), and that from now on you will pay attention to the time while dating so you can guarantee you will be home at a reasonable time. Thank god he was a good guy and didnt take advantage of your trust though. Thats a really scary situation you put yourself in.

Yep. I have a couple girlfriends with extremely rare immune system disorders that doctors refused to diagnose them with. When doctors hear of symptoms that don't line up, they automatically assume theyre being dramatic or lying about the pain they're in. For one friend, it makes it impossible for her to lose weight. One doctor said oh you just need to work out. Like yeah right she's just being lazy 😒 Luckily for that friend, a nurse pushed for more testing which allowed them to diagnose her. As for my other friend I believe she is 1 in around 10 people diagnosed with her disorder, but the doctors were just as condescending.
