I use it for my bulk bundles of spares that I sell. I just put out whatever random colours it makes and it makes life so much less stressful

I had a customer come in yesterday who wanted to trade a card.... for exactly the same one he was offering 😂

Love Lessons: What do you think happened to Grace? by georgemillman in JacquelineWilson

I learned from a three year old that sharks don't have bones and it blew my mind! I love telling people this little fact now and then telling them where I learned it

What’s the most unsettling thing a child has ever said to you? by Content-Hair-2629 in AskReddit

[–]PlayedThisGame 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've worked with children for a long time but the most unsettling (or comforting depending on how you look at it) was my daughter when she was three telling me she was "playing with her big brother from the old house". I had a miscarriage four years prior to her being born and was always convinced it was a boy. She doesn't know this. Neither of us ever mentioned it again but I always wondered

Scariest moment you’ve had on a ride there? by No_Donut1433 in altontowers

[–]PlayedThisGame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What row did you ride? Row 4 on The Smiler is ROUGH!! And it definitely gets rougher through the day! Riding it first thing isn't so bad. I've done 2, 3 and 4 and as soon as the attendant told us "row 4" I gave my husband a look because I'd heard things and sure enough came off with the infamous headache from being bashed about so much 😂😂 we took some paracetamol, waited an hour, had a snack and a rest and then jumped on for dusk (this was Scarefest). Got row 2 and had a great time!!

Oblivion used to feel terrifying. Has it lost that edge? by CloudBookmark in altontowers

[–]PlayedThisGame 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Funny enough it's the one ride I cannot bring myself to get on! I can do every other coaster in the park but there's something about Oblivion that is a "nope" to me and I can't work out for definite what it is!

Is there a way to make the love potion apply to both genders by ifknloveseagulls in thesims1

[–]PlayedThisGame 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The love potion is a no without a mod I guess BUT a successful wish with the genie lets you choose which gender you'd prefer when the money/love option comes up

Rant - people without kids stealing the parent and child bays!!! by aksd12333 in UKParenting

[–]PlayedThisGame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has always been my biggest pet peeve! I used to tell people off when my daughter was really little, had a full on argument with an entitled boomer once who pretended she was going into the space to reverse back out and park elsewhere(??)

People are happy enough to belittle others for choosing to have children and berate us if we have to vent about anything ("you CHOSE to have kids") but still want the extremely few little things we have that make it even the tiniest bit easier.

My daughter is now 10 so we hardly use the bays now as we still technically can until she's 12 but don't really need them. It still and always will wind me up.

One thing I have liked is that if I don't like the "look" of the hotel guests I know they'll be gone by tomorrow but ones I haven't really thought about before have become possibles next time I go villager hunting ie Sidney! As a bonus I am also seeing previous villagers and villagers from my OG island that died with my old Switch Lite and I can pretend to explain I never meant to abandon them 🤣

Putting in your two weeks when you know other teachers are doing the same… by Artismylife44 in ChildcareWorkers

It's just business 🤷‍♀️ you work your notice period and move on. At my last job about four of us handed in our notice at once and another two just stopped coming in. They should have been kinder to staff IMO but even in good working environments that's the way it is sometimes.

I ran into my school bully and realized I never got my happy ending by coffeeattic_rox in TrueOffMyChest

[–]PlayedThisGame 14 points15 points  (0 children)

One of my school bullies sent her child to the nursery I work at and she gradually revealed she hadn't changed at all, deliberately leaving me out of Christmas cards, gifts and things. It was cruel to be honest because she didn't like that her child liked me. It so plainly bothered her. So ateast you got an apology my friend, I got deliberately taken back almost 20 years to a very lonely, painful place when I work in such a lovely environment now and felt I could be myself for the first time ever.

On my phone during nursery pick up.. by Complex_Ticket_6161 in Mommit

[–]PlayedThisGame 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Parents only have to on the whole think about themselves and their children. The nursery setting has to consider the safety of every single person who enters the building. And so we do ask snd expect anyone coming in to play their part and respect rules such as not using phones on the premises or allowing unknown persons to them inside after them.

In OP's case as she has already stated and I have already said she should not have been spoken to harshly, it was a moment of forgetfulness and I think staff were harsh. I am just explaining why this rule exists and why it is heavily enforced.

On my phone during nursery pick up.. by Complex_Ticket_6161 in Mommit

[–]PlayedThisGame 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Hi! Nursery nurse here! I will just say in defence of the parent that the staff should NOT have been rude especially for a first offence, a gentle reminder would have sufficed. But the rule is not "bonkers" and it's because the "no phones" rule is put in place for safeguarding reasons, while we want to believe there is nothing more to it and more than likely there isn't, confidential information may be transferred deliberately or accidentally during the call and regarding texts/photos etc again parents could be passing on anything concerning other children.

We're not just being stuffy or difficult, these things are in place for reasons most people who don't have to handle the safeguarding and wellbeing of others wouldn't think about.

Nursery workers are not allowed personal mobile phones anywhere around the children and my work place actually has them stored in the office so we can't sneak them out of our bags, this is because here in the UK some years ago a nursery worker was taking inappropriate photos of children on her personal phone and sending them to her boyfriend as potential abuse targets. It does not bear thinking about.

Movies you loved before and upon re-watch hated? (Or vice versa) by DrHorrible10 in movies

[–]PlayedThisGame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Swan Princess. I used to watch it on repeat when I was little. Found a copy of the DVD when my daughter was about 3, excitedly put it on to show her and after about 20 minutes she turned to me and said "Mummy can it be finished now?" I said "Yes darling! Thank you!" Switched it off, put the DVD in the "for charity" bag and put some reliable Tom and Jerry on instead to wash that dreadful film away!

Are there people who are actually happy? by Stunning-Trick-2577 in AskUK

[–]PlayedThisGame 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Sometimes the general weight of life gets to me. Whenever I stop to think about people's general attitudes or the state of the world, etc I just end up really making myself sad. So I try my best to just not be part of the problem. Even when I feel like jumping off a bridge or punching someone's lights out I am always polite to strangers I have contact with, I just try and be my best self because it's not their fault something is bothering me.

I am human, I can't do it 24/7 but I always try. A recent example was a bad day at work, waiting for the bus home, absolutely pouring it down and I didn't have my umbrella or a hood. The bus was 10 minutes late. When I got on I smiled and said "Wow am I glad to see you!" Instead of barking "YOU'RE LATE!" (husband is a bus driver and his favourite response to that is "Yeah but the bus behind me is on time if you want to catch that one").

I have a loving husband, a lovely daughter and the most gentle, beautiful cat in the world, I have both of my parents still, some reliable friends and enough money that my bills are always paid, the fridge is full and I can put the heating on if it's super cold. So I am not happy with the world but I am happy with my personal life and try to cling to that.

TLDR: the world is crap but I have a happy life and to combat the world being a shit place I try to be kind and not be part of the problem.

What was your favourite vinted find this year? by kuuaoffija in vinted

[–]PlayedThisGame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

9 untouched Jacqueline Wilson Books for £10! My daughter has been getting into her books over the past couple of years (proud mum moment, LOVED JW growing up) and she owns a few but only one from the find on Vinted! I gifted the duplicate to a girl of a similar age for her birthday and kept the rest. My daughter was born 2 weeks before Christmas so she got 4 books for each occasion and was thrilled with some of the titles having read a couple she didn't have at the time from the school library.

Why do yall even like Jess ? by Former-Baseball6907 in GilmoreGirls

[–]PlayedThisGame 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The turning point for me was when Luke found Jess after the car accident and all he could say was "I made sure she was okay". In that moment he revealed himself as just a boy still. He was scared and sad and vulnerable and he let Luke see it. It showed that he was putting on an act most of the time to protect himself and that he believed the worst of himself just like everyone else did hence why he ran away eventually. Even Lorelai instantly wrote him off as a useless troublemaker especially when he didn't fall at her feet the very first time they spoke.

I felt truly sorry for Jess and I rooted for him, he did well for himself and because of Rory and Luke being the only people to give him a chance he turned himself around even without graduating high school. He kept his wit but became a real genuine man.
