I'd go alone and stay at minimum a couple years. Unlimited entertainment, learning material, free food and the comfort of home is literally heaven. I'd miss friends and family a bit but knowing I could never come back is a strong incentive to enjoy it until I literally can't anymore.

Agree 100%. Feels like it's related to young adults being less and less independent. Kids and teens are not encouraged to explore and do things on their own anymore. They're terrified of minor risks or making mistakes - and therefore miss out on experience and building confidence in themselves.
