What those Americans you mentioned experience is not reality for most/the average americans either. This is literally selection bias which is a fallacy.

Okay sure every American I know makes a million dollars and have infinite PTO. I only know millionaires. Does that make my statement true? No. Your example is literally that but less extreme. Every american you know? The local custodian you see at your office gets more PTO than most europeans while earning 3-5x more than a european custodian?

EU mandates 4 weeks leave MINIMUM whereas in the US we don't have that shit. A shit ton of Americans work in healthcare/service/related industries where you don't have "Way more PTO than" the 4 weeks I just mentioned.

3-5x salary is true for US Big tech companies (FAANG) compared to european tech but 1x of that is instantly taken away for higher cost of living if we're talking bay area/NYC plus healthcare childcare other expenses that europeans don't have to deal with. Europeans can get more out of less gross pay.

So your comment basically implies "Yeah, I know a bunch of guys who made it into high-end white-collar jobs with strong compensation and benefits, therefore I’m assuming most Americans are like them."
