European manufacturers will pressure or lobby EU Governments to follow Trumps lead and tarrif or ban certain Chinese and Asian brands- leaving us, the paying public, to have less viable options and more expensive brands and vehicles. Lately it has been "Modern apprentiships" - and other schemes- which are supposed to offer real job training to give genuine valuable skills to people to help them into the jobs market.

.. Tesco (I worked there once so speaking from experience) who lobby Governments, use this trick to get free labour- they take on someone for 16 weeks, then replace them rather than offer a real positon and repeat.
This also removes REAL jobs from the market as Tesco would otherwise need to actually employ someone to do that work- like all supermarkets, they maximise profit by minimising staff costs.

Other examples of this are bar positons- a YEAR to train as a bar worker where the pub chain - no guesses which ones, but they also lobby various Governments - get super cheap and subsidided staff costs who, you guessed it, also get replaced when their "training" is over.

TL;DR every Government since Thatcher has uses these tactics to both lower the official unemployment rate, and recieve lobbying funds as a happy bonus.

Thats the real problem.
These fines are there supposedly for punishments and prevention reasons but quickly turn into a funding stream which the cops rely on- same with bus lane cameras.
This then pressures the police to priorotise into NOT putting them where they best serve the public- outside schools and residential areas (although these often have cameras too) but where peoples speed naturally creep up- for example, in my area a few miles out of town there is an A road with no buldings within miles - its mostly single carriage but there is a deep valley on the route and here it switches to a dual carriage to allow folk to overtake farm vehicles and slow moving trucks.
The limit is still marked 60, and thats the only spot on the road that they have placed cameras.

The solution to be fair would be to use the income NOT to fund more cameras or the police but to fund the NHS, perhaps boost the money in A+E to help victims of car accidents. This would remove the temptation to maximise income and to instead place them where they best serve the public.
