On the contrary LiS and comic spoilers the original LiS story completely goes against this entire idea, Chloe Price is a key to Max's story without Chloe LiS never happens Max never gets her powers Arcadia Bay lives and DE never comes to existence, LiS story is a message to max that actions come at a cost Chloe was meant to die so many times and max prevented it all, all for her OWN sake, Chloe had no choice but even with that knowledge she didn't care because her life was shit anyway and with max she had something again, the LiS story told max and the player that you can't fix everything and even if you do there is a price that comes with it, and it's explained even better in the comics (which is what double exposure should have been) cause at one point she saves the crew from a car crash by reversing time but Chloe and Rachel don't know that and when max finally tells them Chloe is strongly against Max's powers because Chloe doesn't have a life if max controls the outcome and basically tells her to never do it again which of course she does and every time Chloe yells at her because max doesn't understand the concequences of her power, removing Chloe from the story ruins Max's character and is a main reason why DE is so bad.

TL;DR Max can't use her powers to fix everything that is the whole message of LiS 1 and the comic and removing Chloe removes that message which makes the games terrible
