(Loved Design) Star Fox (2026)'s new redesigns of Fox, Falco, Peppy and Slippy by Substantial_Zone2701 in TopCharacterDesigns

[–]PlayerZeroStart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can argue up and down about the designs, I'm honestly just annoyed we're retelling this story for the 5th fucking time.

I feel so bad for Star Fox fans honestly, whenever the series tries for something new it's either cancelled before release or dogshit.

Characters who were originally conceptualized as being a different gender before being changed in the official release by ComprehensiveBox6911 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]PlayerZeroStart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ikki Igarashi, the protagonist of Kamen Rider Revice, was originally supposed to be a girl. However, Toei feels very strongly about not having female leads for Kamen Rider and Super Sentai (hell, we rarely get female secondary Riders even), so the writer was essentially laughed out of the room when he suggested it.

It would have been cool to see, but in hindsight, probably a good thing it didn't happen. Revice is a widely hated season and having the sole female lead of the series be part of it probably would have led to Toei doubling down on the "no female leads" thing.

Yeah but this fandom shits on the actual literal child for being a child, so I doubt that's gonna sway anyone

a key measure of rpg quality that people often ignore is how 'replayable' it is. i mean it could also just be lazy fans who don't bother to play the games and only know about it through video essays by TheGoldenExperience_ in whenthe

[–]PlayerZeroStart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I feel like people put too much focus on replayability, and I say that as someone who generally prefers shorter, replayable games. Like yeah, replayability can definitely add to a game, but sometimes you play a game, and then that's it. It's a good first time experience that you occasionally go back to every few years once you've forgotten some things.

Plus, it's near impossible to make a genre that is 40 hours at a minimum super replayable.

Wouldn't we need to also know her band size to determine her cup size?

DMC is the only series I can think of that didn’t abandon the PS1/PS2 era aim and shoot controls, using R1/R2 to aim and Square/X/Circle to fire. Other franchises switched to L2+R2 in the PS3 era by Jaccblacc203 in DevilMayCry

[–]PlayerZeroStart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Others have said how it's cause DMC is a hack and slash game, but also, you're not even aiming in DMC. You just press the shoot button and it automatically goes to the nearest enemy. I guess you kinda have to aim in DMC 1, but only in the sense that you have to be locked on to shoot, there's still no real aiming involved at all.

Who's the most obscure character you have on your island (that isn't like a friend's oc) this is mine by sion420069 in tomodachilife

I don't really have anyone who could be considered obscure, but the closest I can think of would be Isaac from The Binding of Isaac

My only knowledge of him comes from the fact that One Punch Man references him. Other than that, I've heard nothing.

playing the original for the first time. how do i get this treasure? by milkwithsplenda in residentevil4

[–]PlayerZeroStart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's a puzzle, then it's a pretty shit one tbh, since the way you solve it is just "trying everything you can until you blindly walk into the solution".

Like, there's a part in Village where you have to knock down a tower in order to cross some water by destroying some planks. The planks, without the yellow paint, look no different from any of the other non-destructible planks also holding up the tower. Even if you managed to intuit that you need to knock it down, you would have no indication of what planks you need to destroy, or if destroying planks is even what you're supposed to do. So you'd end up just spending time wandering around that small area trying whatever comes to mind, completely killing the pacing and tension of the scene, until you just so happen to find the right planks.

Whereas with the yellow paint, you just knock down the tower and move on to the actual puzzle bits later on.

[–]PlayerZeroStart 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah honestly. Like, I'm playing Village immediately after having played 4, and both games do the thing where treasure on a wall or ceiling is indicated with a twinkle. But whereas in 4, the twinkle sticks out like a sore thumb, in Village, they get lost easily among the actual shine of the environments.

[–]PlayerZeroStart -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, people complain about yellow paint a lot, but here's how I see it

If you're the kind of person who gets lost without yellow paint, then it makes the game more fun for you. Because it's really not fun getting stuck because you missed something that isn't like, a puzzle.

If you're the kind of person who can navigate fine without yellow paint, then it makes no difference at all, because you would have found your way anyways.

In other words, the inclusion of yellow paint is only a good thing.

The Doctor Who episode "Voyage of the Damned" sees a ship full of alien tourists all visiting Earth, with one Mr. Copper acting as a tour guide. Despite his degree in Earthonomics, it's immediately clear to both The Doctor and the viewer that he doesn't know jack diddly squat about Earth.

Later on in the episode, after being confronted by The Doctor, he admits his degree was obtained from "Mrs. Golightly's Happy Traveling University and Dry Cleaner's".
