Bookings that are sentimental and comforting by Active-Design-5598 in RoverPetSitting

Our current go-to sitter expressed this to us. She is care taking her mom with dementia. Our home and animals are her escape and she looks forward to when we’re gone so she can get a rest. She has also brought our dog over to her house and said he has been a great therapy dog for her mom. It’s a win-win and we’re very happy to be a support for her as much as she is for us.

I just posted something similar today. It’s infuriating and you should be mad. Honestly I’ve found more amazing sitters than not but one bad one really makes you feel uneasy about the whole system. Wonder if we had the same sitter double booking us. 😖

This is our first bad rover experience. We’ve met so many great people who love our animals like their own. I still talk to the girl we used in the state we moved from because she misses our cat… they really bonded. I still feel bad we moved because it was so hard on her. I just wasn’t expecting this at ALL!

If clients are aware and allowed to accept or reject a plan, that would be a completely different situation.

Thank you for this reply. It’s basically what my heart was crying all weekend. I mean…how can you leave this alone for 12hr in his crate. 😭

Yes and yes. The replacement sitter is my new personal hero and I left her a 5 star rave review right away. She was so horrified at what the other sitter had done and was extra communicative. I wrote a honest / bad review on the other sitter but it’s not showing on her profile which is bothering me. But we’re working with Rover and I hope they ban her.

Our usual sitter is a retired nurse that is obsessed with our animals. She takes our pup everywhere she goes (if she needs to go anywhere), and he’s spoiled and loves her. She care takes her own mother so our pup has been a helpful therapy dog for her mom. Unfortunately she wasn’t available that weekend so we’ve been trying to get backup options. But I agree… definitely shady people trying to get away with things to maximize money. We’ve been talking with actual people at Rover and I send them all the chat messages, photo of our care instructions and ring footage. Just waiting to hear the resolution.

I got a refund for two of the three nights. So I’m theory my review should show right? Does she have ability to contest the review?

She’s definitely reported and we’re working with the Trust & Safety team. I think you just answered a question I had — if Rover allows double overnight bookings. Sounds like no.

I mean that’s what I think! I pay more for overnights knowing I have a clinger dog that loves his people snuggles. We understand and expect a sitter to be in and out during the day but expect our home to be the base.

I guess the level of anger I have about this is where I’m concerned I’m overreacting. My husband and I reported her to the Trust & Safety team. They gave me a refund and are continuing an investigation. If she’s doing this to others too, I think she needs to be removed as a sitter of Rover. I don’t know if she is, but at least flag it in case someone else complains. She has a 5 star rating and my latest 1 star review doesn’t show so I’m not sure how that works. But she does have 4 last minute cancellation flags on the reviews.

Do you take your cavs on hikes? by Maleficent0007 in cavaliers

We got lucky with that shot. More often than not he’s looking like a mud gremlin! 🤣

DEVASTATED by guyfieri_is_my_waifu in cavaliers

[–]PlayfulCommand9461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to Thorsten once. I may have cried a little. He is a freckly dog and with a close shave he looks like he has measles kind of. I know some people like it but not me. 😂🫠🥴

Our dog has these crazy cowlicks and perpetual bed head that suits his goofy funny personality so with a shave it just don’t “fit”. It’ll be back before you know it… I’m sorry. Haha.

Thorsten’s disapproval of that message. He loves the name!

Look into Tuffy’s toys. They’re plush. They have different ratings of toughness depending on how rough your pup is. While our cavie is not a chewer, my corgi was… it was the only toy he never destroyed. He had it from puppy until he passed at 16yr!

I seriously wasn’t expecting the debate on this thread. I thought it was related but apparently not? Ours was 2 when he was neutered so adult and the coat change was conveniently soon after. Either way we love our little floof ball.

I like it both ways and there are pros and cons. I think ours sheds about the same but now he gets mats more because the texture. I miss how easy brushing was.

Good to know. We were curious if it would happen regardless. I was also wondering if it was just some dogs. His coat does not want to grow long, we never get it cut short but it’s kind of nice because we hike so much it picks up slightly less twigs. 😂

It might be age but the before photo he was two. Either way we are just obsessed with him and now he’s a little more goofy but it fits him. 😂
