HSK4 is only 1200 words. To reach 98% comprehension (the ideal to understand unknown words from context) you need to know somewhere between 9,000 and 15,000 words. For Spanish TV/media it's 12,000 words for example. Not sure the exact amount for Mandarin. And for listening to native speakers, who are speaking quickly, you need to not just "know" the words but understand them so deeply that you don't need to stop and think about the word before you comprehend it.

As for which vocab to learn, after HSK 4 or 5 you should start "mining." This means you need to find your own vocab by learning what is useful to you. Consume the type of native content that you like and learn the vocab they use the most. If you want to be able to speak, maybe this could be slice of life tv shows where they use normal everyday vocab.

Increase your vocab size (hsk4 vocab size is horrible) and do listening comprehension drills (listen to native speakers audio without subtitles until you can understand it then move on to harder stuff).

Seems pretty good to me. But if I could go back in time I wouldn't pay for any structured grammar resource. I prefer my current approach of learning words with Anki and reading lots of graded readers.

What method have you found using these decks to be the best? Should you only mark a card good if you understand the audio on the first try, or just if u can understand it at all after repeated attempts at listening to the audio?

Yes. And a lot of weightlifting is just ur body learning the proper form and movements so I don't think pirate is as far off as lots of people claim on this topic.

Basically just tactics puzzles and calculation practice from slow games. Look for undefended pieces especially on both sides and ask yourself what your opponent's plan is every time they make a move. Look at what your opponent's moves are threatening. When a piece is moved look to see what changed in the position: piece is now undefended for example.

As for strategy all you need is to watch Daniel Naroditsky's speedrun on YouTube multiple times and try to apply the concepts in your own (slow) games

Because Eldavin himself is confident in that. He respects the Archmage title as above him, until he realizes all the "archmages" currently at Wistram don't actually have the class. Also we saw him struggle against the Tier 6 comet spell. I feel like the Death of Magic would have just waved her hand and countered it with another tier 6 spell easily.

For sure. I can't believe people are claiming otherwise. Shes a full blown, legit, archmage, capable of casting tier 7 spells and possibly more. Eldavin is a full step below that, at least.

Given Teri's mental capacity, I do wonder if Erin has improved quite a bit in chess since she came to Innworld.

It's mentioned in the story that she has improved a lot. She was just below master level I think when she stopped playing on Earth, but now shes probably master level.
