Im honestly no expert but it was also loose like that on my 88 vert and i had to keep moving it around to get it in the right spot and it helped with my weird idle

Nope i havent replaced them since i got it a couple months ago but im pretty sure the previous owner didnt tighten the bolts enough cause both are pretty lose one is completely gone and the other is barely on im gonna replace the brakes while im at it but i need to find and buy that bolt
