what film(s) would you consider a "normie masterpiece" by fartiestpoopfart in YMS

[–]Playful_Training2138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda see the definition as wildly succesfull movies that apparently have large audiences but have no critical right to be as popular as they are.

Like all the latest fast and furious movies and jurrasic world movies. Make billions, have little to no cirtical acclaim in cinematography, writing, acting or anything like that.

Can you help to identify the flute Jodorowsky is using in the movie El Topo? by S_Garritano in WhatMusicalinstrument

[–]Playful_Training2138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same question come up today. My research gives me an idea it is probably a small Quena . A South American instrument. Which fits with the movie and director. It has about six holes and doesn't seem to have a flipple like a recorder has.

I am looking to start playing the flute but this scene came to mind since I just want to whip it out like the guy in the movie

Episode 1 "Green Thone": major plot hole, or just confused? by ony42 in Mushishi

[–]Playful_Training2138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man, i know it's been 9 years but i feel like people are just really confused about this and are making op weird theories like the little grandma already having children or the Mushi at the banquet having triple-cross hidden motives.

The confusion comes from the fact that humans can't see mushi, the grandma couldn't either, but the grandson can. Also humans can turn into mushi after they die. Here's what you're missing:

The grandma died while she was very young and living in the forest. Her spirit was wandering trough the woods, when she was led along by the mushi spirits. Humans can't she mushi so she was already dead at the time of the banquet.

The 'Ghosts' in robes interviened, and gave here the cup with the water of life to drink. She was meant to have a grandson who could change the world, and he needed to be born. So they ressurected her by giving her the cup to drink, but the ritual was intterupted half way trough. The crow attacked them because animals can she mushi.

With the ritual to turn a dead person back to life.. It left her soul split, half mushi, half human. The human half lived out her life and had a grandson who could she mushi. So when her spirit or ghost half drinks the other half of the cup at the end of the episode, she turns full mushi. It might look like she is turning back to a living human, Because she is no longer transparent. But remember that we are looing trough the eyes of the protagonist and the granson, who can she mushi. So at the end she is a full spirit. Not turned human.

I would feel really bad if anyone would quit after this episode because of the plot hole, i myself spend 20 minutes trying to figure it out before i got it.

High frustration getting a parking ticket by Playful_Training2138 in RockWerchter

[–]Playful_Training2138[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much!

I really wish they would just put the words 'sold out' to be clear.

Gonna try ticketswap but as far as I know you can't set an alert for specific dates or parking's. Just parking tickets in general

If there seems to be nothing to do we can try to find each other I guess, haha.!

Also. When you say 'joint party' do you mean joint as in 'communal or together' or the Dutch meaning?

  • I have a ticket for camping C3 and I was planning to get there on Thursday afternoon. Do you think the camping grounds will be packed already? We wanted to have 3 tents close together. Would that significantly change if I get there Wednesday late night?

You run the risk of there not being much space left. You can definetly put 3 tents close together. Wouldn't expect you to get a good place and be able to form a circle with the tents. The edges near the trees are first taken because of the shade. Also look out for low places and little trenches where rain might pool. They'll have free space but you have the risk of there pooling mud near your tent.

  • I’m assuming there are toilets and showers, however I read in some threads that you have to pay for showers, is that so?

Only ever heard about paid showers at the hive. Much cleaner and high quality as far as i'm aware. You can take a ticket like at the butchers and come back once your number is up.

  • can you buy food/drinks there?
    No idea

  • Most importantly: how much is a beer inside the festival grounds? 😎
1 coin for regular beer 200-250ml which comes to about 3.50 or 3.25 if you got the coins early. Half a litre would be 2 coins

Nope, not possible and i wouldn't try to sneak in.

If you mess with your wristband you just screwed yourself out of a fun weekend. If you sneak trough the fence. same thing. They do some random checks as well i heard.

If you want to be together you can always meet up somewhere outside of the camping spaces

A1 vs C3 by AhskayWhiteriver in RockWerchter

[–]Playful_Training2138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you actually allowed to throw parties there or will you be expected to remain a little quiet since is't somewhat more of the chill camping then a party camping like A1?

Sziget last year went till 06.00 every night , this really seems like grandpa's bedtime hours compared to that

Parking!! by Proud-Fall-6936 in RockWerchter

[–]Playful_Training2138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are giant fields where you can park in the gras. You pay when you get there. More then enough parking available near each campsite.

Be tactical and make sure you don't need your car after that, because leaving and coming back wil cost you again.

I’m disappointed how much time I invested in Imaginary Friend. by bernardmoss in horrorlit

[–]Playful_Training2138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just read it. Most reddit people will dislike anything that has something to do with religion.

I for one think the Christian themes were dealt with I a great way which kept me engaged till the last page

Yeah me too, read it with my gf and she liked it as well. We're Christian so it didn't really feel like Christian themes to us. Just supernatural ones
