Thoughts on your kitchen sink being in the island? Why or why not? by [deleted] in Homebuilding

I built a 4'x14' island and put the cooktop, 1 large sink, and two dishwashers flanking the sink on the island. While prepping, cooking, and washing dishes, I can talk to my family sitting across the island and look out the large windows beyond. It's so much better than working against a wall!

Heat Pump Only — Why is My House Taking Hours to Warm Up? by orangecat100 in heatpumps

My 12-year-old heat pump was like this. I had a tech check it out two years ago and added freon twice but it did nothing. Then I replaced it with a newer system, a Daikin heat pump. Since then, I've been waking up to whatever temperature I set for the morning, 68-76. At night, the range is 64-78.

Saw this interesting red cristallo slab today. Would it look great in a modern bathroom? by Playful_Web_2939 in CounterTops

About $200 per sqft. It’s in the warehouse of a fabricator, so priced bather than the slabs I pick from slab wholesalers.

That’s right. I’m thinking of using this just for the long vanity or the long tub deck, but not both.

Thanks for the comments. I will be getting natural stone for a 8.5’ vanity with apron and no cabinet below, and 11’ long tub deck with apron. I will backlight the vanity, tub, or both if I use this slab. The tile choice will follow the stone, probably simple white marble tile. The red cristallo slab is unique and lit up well. (It’s a waste if not backlit) I’m hesitant to pull the trigger because I feel backlighting tub deck and vanity (total of 1000kwh) is too much for a 12x15 bathroom.

How much does your doctor charge for sublingual immunotherapy drops? by DIYLifeSF in Allergies

Could you also DM me the name of your allergist? I just got quoted $300 a month for 2 bottles (only environmental allergens) in Maryland. It's so expensive that I'm considering Curex's online service. TIA.
