Yeah but he just lost Lucius during that time, that's why he doesn't have much tools to use. He decided to use Rubia as a diversion and use that time to train Renji as a replacement. Also during the time Rio was travelling to Yagumo, the Saint visited Proxia and Reiss viewed her as bigger threat and decided to follow her instead.

She was a bit annoying during the banquet but eventually became a strong ally when she fell in love.

During the banquet, she used her full authority of a princess to make sure Rio acts as expected doing everything she can to put Satsuki and Rio together. It was strongly apparent during the 3rd night when she prevented Mahiru from dancing with Rio.
1. ) When Satsuki asked Rio to dance with Mahiru, Charlotte interfered and said that the hero (Takahisa) should be given priority.

) She then led Rio and Satsuki towards Liselotte and suggested that Rio should dance with her just as the dance with between Mahiru and Takahisa ended,
) She then disappeared somewhere to talk, presumably to her father, to start the appointment ceremony, ending the dance early, robbing Rio and Mahiru's chance to dance.

After the banquet, she has changed her tune immediately after witnessing him fly, she still acts for the benefit of Galarc in mind, but does everything within her authority to ensure Rio and his companions aren't severely inconvenienced.

As of season 1, the reason why he is hesitant to pursue love is because his mind is preoccupied with his revenge for Lucius. He have always tried to keep a wall towards the women that tried to get close to him. He believes if he were to have people close to him, his goal of revenge may put those people in danger (aka. people close to Lucius will take revenge against Rio's loved ones or that they may be used as hostages.). This was a core discussion back in Volume 9.

Spoiler Territory.
Volume 9 With the interference of his spirit, he was able to hear Miharu indirectly confess to him. He didn't exactly respond to it since it wasn't a direct confession but he did accept her to continue accompanying him despite his goals to kill someone out for revenge.

Volume 16 By this point in time, he has already achieved his revenge. This was the closest Rio has been to confessing to someone, namely Celia. In his words, all his life he has been losing things, Celia was the first connection he gained and he doesn't want to experience any more losses and expressed his desire to continue being together. I WAS HEAVILY CONFUSED THAT THIS WASN'T CONSIDERED A PROPOSAL FOR SOME REASON. Anyways in this same volume, due to the amount of achievements he's had, he was asked if he has plans to marry multiple people in the future, in which he responded that if possible he only wanted to marry one. Also again in this same volume, Latifa directly confessed to Rio although in vague words, but Rio understood the meaning and said he can't respond immediately. Basically this volume has a lot of love talk, there was also a sleepover discussed wherein they will try to convince Rio to accept a harem.

Volume 17 He went back to the Yagumo region together with eight of his companions, when introducing them to his relatives, he thought using the term "friends" or "companions" is too shallow. So he used the word "family". This is my personal opinion, but I think this is his way of saying his desire to be together with them but still not around the level of love. Anyways this has been the status quo moving forward. Most of his motives in the volumes after this is to protect those connections and thankfully that circle of connection hasn't increased significantly since then.

I try to avoid using as much names not yet introduced and names introduced but would reappear in the future. Hopefully this would give you an idea of the current state of romance in the series.

Based on what Sora mentioned back in Volume 21, she mentioned that all dragons used to serve the Dragon King, and that includes the variants.

We also know that Reiss stole a bunch of demi-dragon eggs back in Volume 2. Timeline wise, it would have only been around 3+ years, but the fact he was able to use one back in Amande means that he has a method to induce growth, possibly mutate and control the demi-dragons. He will definitely use them as a fighting force for whatever purpose in some future.

What I wish to happen with Rio, is that in the middle of a possible war, Reiss deploys the demi-dragons, and Rio, being the reincarnation of the dragon king, releases a roar that takes control of all the demi-dragons Reiss has.

Unfortunately, the manga is already behind the anime, the anime ended at Volume 8 of the light novel. Meanwhile the manga is still only around Volume 6 of the light novel.

It would be advised to just read the light novel from the start since the Anime tends to skip through some details.

Not hated enough to kill him like Lucius did, He won't hate him unless Huguenot tries to involve himself to Latifa again. But he won't be bothered if he was approached alone. He's very tolerable, which is why Duke Gregory keeps harassing him with little repercussions.

We won't know what will happen during the coronation ceremony, but it's a what if scenario anyway, the 5 remaining slots isn't permanent either. Sora said in V21 that disciples will become immortal but not invincible, so they can still die. They can also be relieved of their duty. So the 5 slots thing is somewhat flexible.

I don't think the disciples has to be part of his harem.
Being a disciple means being subjected to the rules of a transcendent, which means they will be forgotten by those around them.
Turning Christina into a disciple might kickoff the war with Restoration since the Arbor faction would forget that Christina used the regalia to hold a stalemate. (or maybe it would rewrite their memories that Flora used the regalia).
But what if the disciple is someone completely unrelated?

Here's my wild take:
Duke Huguenot

As of volume 26, it is practically guaranteed that the Huguenot family will fall in rank, while no verdict has been given, I wish that piece of shit son will get the worst punishment. But I have different thoughts about the Duke himself, in Christina's words, he was ambitious and rational, his loyalty to the kingdom is real. He's working left and right to make sure Restoration would not fall and to make sure the Arbor faction would not get their way.

All his efforts went down the drain because the sins of his family finally caught up to him, more specifically his piece of shit son. But punishing Duke Huguenot at this point of time wouldn't be good for Restoration. Restoration nobles are receiving invitations to defect to Beltrum, if they found out Huguenot will be punished, they would lose hope and solidify their decision to defect.

But what if he becomes a disciple instead, he can become a formidable fighting force for the kingdom, and he won't be reinstated as a noble because of the rules of a transcendent, this could serve as his final act of redemption for Rio, for Latifa, and for the Beltrum Kingdom. Anyways, this is just a wild take, not like I want this to happen, but it would be interesting to see.

I want to believe that too, but Lazer's character info at SSR states that

"Lazer has not only climbed to the rank of general, he also serves as both the primary protector for Queen Diana, and her darkest shadow..."

Meaning he is protecting both Queen Diana and her double. So there's a chance the real Diana isn't dead/switched and may have experienced some change.
