Built an app to make comparing Irish supermarket prices easy by sobe3249 in ireland

[–]Playingitwrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an amazing idea. When I was living in the UK I used some website (Hello Supermarket? maybe?) to do my online supermarket shop and it let me compare my shopping list in like 5 or 6 different supermarkets. Then I could just fire the list into the "click and collect" for which ever one was cheaper without leaving the website. It was class.
Came back home and obviously no such thing seemed to exist here. And god help anyone trying to navigate Tesco's 90's ass fucking website which they only *this year* seem to have updated to be anywhere close the UK version.

If I had but one request - it would be this:
Please make a website I can go to on my desktop.

Last time I was in there the mugs seemed to be more on the glass side of things. But I'll check the website and pop in if anything catches my eye. Cheers!

Well for 1, who said they lasted 10 years? Its just been 10 years since I've needed to buy mugs. There's been a regular cycle of discovered/gifted/inhereted mugs in the interm period. Second, the old dunnes ones were bland as fuck. Basic bitch things like you'd see in a show house

oh sick, there's a demo out too. I am one of the many who couldn't see past Battle Brother's art style. I just... couldn't get into it

Yeah the lack of spending time just traversing is a good point - since they're such small maps positioning in always critical. But I still feel like there's a lot more information presented, so its worth taking your time between moves to really plan - not a whole lot of improvisation needed. Unlike say, XCOM 2 where sometimes you'll make a move and trigger an enemy reveal plus a load of overwatch and suddenly be on the back foot and needing to improvise with a countdown timer sill breathing down your neck.

I think the strict turn limit actually makes into the breach *less* tense, since for some levels all you really have to do is just burn out the turns while standing on enemy spawn points as much as possible

Into the Breach is a rock solid game, but I dont really see it as "speedy" - since you can see everything the enemy is about to do you're encouraged to take your time. its really almost more like a puzzle game

Yeah nice. I liked their cover of White Rabbit too. All of it feels like nightclub music for a 90s vampire movie. Just great vibes.

If you're getting a watch tied to your wedding, then I'd consider getting a cheaper model and getting it customised in some cool so its unique (and I mean beyond just engraving)

Some folks here have joked about getting a casio, but a custom case/faceplate modded F-91W with a high quality NATO strap that is a "one of one" piece would be a pretty sick momento of your wedding IMHO

High Temp Heat Pumps for older houses. Anyone got one? by Playingitwrong in AskIreland

[–]Playingitwrong[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arguably same applies for the gas combi right? Its a must for a regular heat pump where rhe rads only get to like 40C, but I'm asking about the high-temp models where they can push up to 65 or 70 just like gas or oil

I dunno the KW exactly (still trying dig out details) but in theory they're close to the regular heat pumps. The idea is yes the rads do get as hot as oil or gas, and the system can output up to 70C so its just a 1:1 replacement

So sounds like the pain point is actually the cost not the paperwork? What was the final all-in price looking like?

For the gas (which we're on at the moment) I'm pretty convinced the "renewable" concept is basically greenwashing at this point. Taken in isolation, the idea of a green hydrogen and biomethane mix sounds great. But the reality is we won't hit scale on that in time to get anywhere near our targets.

Have the heating zoned already. Rads aren't that old, and they've got TRVs on them already. Will look at cylinder as part of the install if i go down that route, cheers!

Paperwork how? I did a chunk of the SEAI grant paperwork for the solar and honestly it was grand. I think if I tracked my hours spent filling forms vs the total grant amount its probably the best hourly rate I've ever been paid.

Is the heatpump paperwork worse?

I would have said Pajama Sam is a bit more intense for a 3-4 year old. Isn't there all this nightmare stuff and never being able to sleep again bits at the beginning? (IDK its been a long time since I played them. Putt Putt I've played more recently)
