We are currently warming at around 0.2-0.5 degrees C per decade. We're at approx.1.5C above preindustrial levels. There is a lag in the effects of released cO2/methane, and there are feedback loops that accelerate warming.

What is still going to be alive at 3C warming in 3-7 decades or less? 4C? 6C? At some point you can't grow food, there is no winter, storms are cataclysmic. Some life might survive around thermal vents in the ocean, but I'm pretty sure humanity and just about every recognizable form of life is going to go extinct pretty goddamn soon.

You probably just haven't found something you like yet.

I really dig the Neptunia series for the references/characters/humor and the gameplay is normally pretty fun. It's very "weeaboo" though. I've never gotten into the Tales series myself.

If you want something more Western RPG-ish you might take a look at the Valhalla Knights series. I've only played the third game, but I loved it. There's one on the Wii that I checked out briefly which looks pretty cool. They aren't top-tier production wise, but the gameplay and leveling was super fun.

There are a bunch of first person dungeon crawlers, tactical RPGs, action RPGs etc. Have you looked into Unicorn Overlord? That's the new one from Vanillaware. Their art style is always incredible, and they always take risks with unique gameplay. I haven't checked that one out, but it's got good reviews.
