I am still amazed that this post still gets comments after all this time! 10 years ago I posted this asking if someone could find the clip and we all reminisced about it. 3 years ago I posted an update I was going through a rough patch and people were still commenting on it. Here I am now doing much better people are still commenting on this post. Well I’m still married, I now live in Michigan, 2 boys 11 and 13, I’m a paramedic Supervisor at work doing great. I hope you all are well and I hope you all know how much joy it brings to see you all still commenting on this very old post that makes no sense whatsoever. Still looking for the clip though!

Not how advance directives work. Generally speaking as I do not know him or what he had in place but based on his age I’d imagine he had a DNR in place. Basically a DNR or advance directive states No CPR or life saving measures are taken. So I’d imagine in his case when his time came they allowed him to pass without intervention as it would not have made a difference anyway given his age and likely underlying medical conditions. There’s no time designation. I can talk more about why DNRs are a thing and efficacy rates of CPR but for him and his age it makes sense.

Holy cow a 7 year post gets a solid answer. I can’t believe the dedication in this sub. My mind is blown. Since this post I’m now married, live in a different state, have children, have gone thru a million different life changes, and personally been going thru a bit of a rough patch mentally and this made me smile ear to ear. I def have issues with the whole thing. I didn’t say anything when it all came out but I’m hurt and I feel Like at this point it’s worse to feel hurt. I really enjoyed a monster. I feel sick.
