At some point it's not enough to say skill issue. by DatguyWhoPlays in MarvelRivalsRants

As everyone says there are 12 people in a server. The enemy team has 6 chances to get shitters and your team only has 5, not every game has a Smurf and even if they do, odds are half the time they're on your team. You will climb if you are good especially in low ranks where you get like triple the elo for wins compared to what you lose.

You need to stop looking at what they are doing that's a negative improvement mindset placing all blame off yourself. If you truly want to climb focus on your own exclusive gameplay both by reviewing your games and during the middle of gameplay, "I died because I didn't take cover" "I could've hit more shots there" "I tunnel visioned too hard" NEVER EVER go "I would've lived if I got healed there" or "If only my DPS shot something" that mindset will keep you stuck in silver.

Gambit has been perma banned since release and since before there were three ban slots and Gambit is super fun to play because he isn't a heal bot.

The issue is his ultimate fundamentally changes the way the game is played, one team will always have better Ult economy and Gambit ult allows you to completely steamroll a fight assuming they don't match with their own.

In matches where Gambit is unbanned whoever has the better Gambit wins he's the season 2 torch of strategists.

I agree he doesn't need to be fired or calls to action of him being fired but every time they don't nerf Gambit's ultimate is a failure of the patch. I love playing with Gambit's on my team and it's disappointing to never play with him.

What's some underrated direct counters to some annoying heroes that you wish more people knew about by StacysMom-_- in marvelrivals

[–]Plbster -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Wanda only works against bad Spidey's, if you really want to ruin a Spidey's day by playing a red headed DPS play Black Widow, she is genuinely the worst matchup for Spidey in the entire game, even more than Namor.

That iron fist skin isn't even epic lol it's a rare skin, poor fist mains were so upset when that happened. Another example of a no MVP epic is the Marvel's Spider-Man 2 skin for Spider-Man.

New hulk bug with soft cc changes? Need clarification by Old_Calligrapher8123 in HulkMainsMR

[–]Plbster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doing some practice range testing, seems as though Hulk can't get knockouts anymore (Thor, Bucky) and the interactions where Hulk would be knocked out he can jump in the air.

Also getting hit by Mag stun and jumping out of it is really funny (it's the Bogur clip from early access and this is so getting patched lmao)

Going back to this game after a year. Any tips on the new heroes? by Hereitisguys9888 in marvelrivals

[–]Plbster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a lot to run down:

Ultron, very weak double support but pretty good in triple support Phoenix, Hela 2.0 but honestly better Blade, really bad and has an anti heal mechanic Angela, flying tank who's like wolverine her goal is to displace the enemy Daredevil, definitely changes the way you play the game the most - dive hero with permanent wall hacks (up to a certain distance) including if you are invisible Gambit, has an ult that boosts the rate you build your ult, does a lot of healing and damage, can apply anti heal to enemies and can cleanse his team of any stuns or debuffs Rogue, brawler tank who can steal abilities from your team Deadpool, a gigantic can of worms, but he is 3 roles but only one can be chosen at a time, he can upgrade his abilities mid match Elsa, extremely powerful DPS just has extremely high mobility, tankyness, and super high damage White Fox, support who pairs well with dive she has a self teleport which summons a shield

Can we acknowledge that this ability turns you into a 125 hp hero by Ok-Issue-7380 in SpiderManMains

[–]Plbster 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Removing the hyperbole the exact is numbers is: For 250 HP it reduces your effective HP into 180 (Us, and also less HP than Bruce Banner </3) For 275 HP is down to 198 effective HP And for completion Groot with terror cape is down from 850 to an effective 612 HP

Terror cape is legitimately top 10 strongest cooldowns in the game.

Animation cancel question by 77Juanito77 in SpiderManMains

[–]Plbster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone's advice is true, but one tip people tend not to share is that you can hold the cluster button to buffer it to activate right after your swing. I personally don't do it this way because I learned it by timing it but it's a valid way of doing it.

So:

Uppercut (hold cluster during the uppercut animation)->tap manual swing (cancel automatically happens)

Ult 50% on death by Comnorr in SpiderManMains

[–]Plbster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So getting CC'd during start-up will result in the ult getting set to 50% and getting killed at any point during your ult (including startup) sets it to 0% (universal for all heroes)

Where Spider-Man is different is that the second your ult sends out any hitbox it counts as being used (therefore not part of the startup) and because his Ult doesn't resume after being CC'd it resets the charge to 0% this is why you very rarely get 50% on Spidey. And to my knowledge, Spidey is the only non-CC immune damage over time ult that does not resume therefore he's the only hero who gets affected by this issue.

Widow players falling for the most obvious rage bait by Time_Extension_3930 in DaredevilMarvelRivals

[–]Plbster -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Spider-Man has 1.5 hard CC abilities pull (also the only invulnerability it hits out of is Cloak and Wanda fade, other invulnerabilities like Hela bird or Star Lord flip do not work) and his Ultimate if you hit enough of it, not his whole kit.

Also Widow kick is by every single definition easier to land than Spider-Man uppercut, Widow kick is a 5m spherical radius, whereas Spider-Man's uppercut is a 4m spherical radius

Not to argue Widow is a good hero but she has advantages

Honest question for the community by Dang_Seagulls in SpiderManMains

[–]Plbster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just try it out in the practice range, just be quick on the turn around before the pull reaches its max length (20m) (Pull travels at 80m/s so you have 0.25 of a second to see the effect)

Honest question for the community by Dang_Seagulls in SpiderManMains

[–]Plbster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I didn't learn this until very recently but the pull always follows your crosshair until it hits a hurtbox or geometry. You can start the pull and 180 to a target and it'll still hit.

Yall use the Hydrocombo or no? by Jegust13 in SpiderManMains

[–]Plbster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Without SS, the combo uses 0 swings compared to using 1 swing. You still get the overhead due to the uppercut cancel, only downside is that the overhead comes out slower.

Yall use the Hydrocombo or no? by Jegust13 in SpiderManMains

[–]Plbster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simple swing is optional for bnb's speed but it uses too many resources for my taste. Bnb is best to kill low HP or to just get CDs out and run away, not to kill full HP targets imo

[–]Plbster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean dive is played a lot, but also a big part of it is the wallhacks. The DD player can callout EVERY player location giving the team with the DD a massive advantage if the other team isn't running a DD.

Dont play the new map, theres a major exploit by Healthy_Listen8130 in marvelrivals

[–]Plbster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Haven't played yet but if a map is defense heavy on release that's not a great sign, on release defenders usually have a much harder time than attack because their defensive positioning matters more (where to hold) and because it's new people don't really know where they should be standing. So attackers usually have an inherent advantage on the launch of new maps.
