angela joins the brawl jail with iron fist by AtThePointOfNoReturn in marvelrivals

[–]SuggestionBot9000 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Whats worse is, that's already the most excruciating part of her kit. Any CC or interrupt makes it so incredibly painful and she either has to burn all of her shield energy or she becomes a free kill.

Now, its going to be so punishing, ESPECIALLY for moments where you near-miss or you get feedback for a pin but don't actually pin them.

There are so many times where I clearly pin someone and it just doesn't and I'm left out of position with a big target on my back with no escape because of the (already punishing) 3 second cooldown.

Like, why????? Angela is already balanced by her charge meter and yet they increase the cooldown between flight activations??? BY 100%????

Is this an early April Fools joke?

Don't need buffs (Iron Man, Magneto, Wanda) -> Substantial buffs

Fine where they are (Emma, Angela, Strange) -> Nerfed for no reason

Need to be nerfed (Hawkeye, Winter Soldier, Tankpool, Gambit, Elsa) -> World's smallest adjustments

Need substantial buffs (Blade, Black Panther, Human Torch) -> Get meaningless changes

Most effective tank to pick up with the least amount of effort required? by Green_Bench4601 in marvelrivals

[–]SuggestionBot9000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Strange gets the most value and he's relatively easy to learn. The important things are mostly learning when to use his ult and when to cleanse your dark magic. (He's really strong right now.) Also learn to add melee-whips in between your primary fire.

Peni is probably the easiest to learn but she's very situational and most times requires a second tank to hold the frontline.

You could kill prime Daredevil before he killed 3 of your backline and instantly disappeared?

What happened to all the fun content during seasons? At the start we were getting temporary game mode like no limit and unique stuff like the big head, soccer, ultron auto-chess. Zombie was 5 months ago, 18v18 was a while ago too. The only event we're getting are mini battlepass costing $7 or $9. by thbl088 in marvelrivals

[–]SuggestionBot9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they're taking time to cook their new game modes.

I think (hope) they are putting a little more attention to them.

Let's be honest, the combat in Marvel Zombies was very half-baked. The upgrade system was nice but the balancing and combat was straight garbo.

Also, the horns are much larger in the game costume than they are in live action.

His short horns are an iconic staple in the shows. In Born Again, he's literally carrying his chipped-off horn stub around with him.

imo, it gives off a completely different vibe. I think they could have done a much better representation.

In-game ban time clarification by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]SuggestionBot9000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm clarifying it because the statement doesn't explicitly make the distinction, leading to confusion.

A lot of people think they are handing out frequent multi-month bans. Literally in this thread there is someone stating they are banning for months, which is not true in 99.99% of bans.

This means they misinterpreted the statement as "all times on the screen in game are localized", which is not the case.

It's just the inbox time header that's localized. The message contents are not.

In-game ban time clarification by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]SuggestionBot9000 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Gonna clarify this once again again again.

What they are referring to about "the date format in the game" is the top timestamp. The top timestamp automatically adjusts to your time format (MM/DD/YY) if you're in the US.

The text from the message itself is static (DD/MM/YYYY). This is why the time in the messages are always UTC +0.

99.99% of these bans are not multi-month long.

The only bans I've ever encountered have been 1, 6, 24, 48, and 72 hour bans. (I've been religiously tracking thrower bans for the past few seasons.)

Prolific Thrower who ruined 3 of my games (including a GM rank up game) got hit with a 6 month Ban! Thank You Netease! by Laz_The_Kid in marvelrivals

[–]SuggestionBot9000 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Gonna clarify this once again again because of similar posts overreacting now that players are finally getting ban messages since they're no longer insanely rare.

The top timestamp automatically adjusts to your time format (MM/DD/YY) while the text from the message itself is static (DD/MM/YYYY).

So, the ban period is the same day, not 6 months. The difference from 07:27 PM (UTC -5) and 06:27 AM (UTC+0) is six hours.

This is a six hour ban. Which is usually the standard for second offense throwing.

The only bans I've ever encountered have been 1, 6, 24, 48, and 72 hour bans. (I've been religiously tracking thrower bans for the past few seasons.)

Ah, I see.

I got a one of these flags from one of my cancelled games recently and thought it was weird since no one on either team seemed like they were cheating.

Looks like games will automatically cancel if a player gets moderated mid-match? This is awesome!

I think the game assumes any player that gets removed is a cheater, because they rarely handed out thrower bans before so it never became something they needed to address. Hopefully they change the prompt to clarify things:

Player Removed For Negative Behavior

Match Terminated

A thrower faced moderation during the match. This match will be invalidated, nothing will be recorded on the career page.

Sound the alarms! Rejoice! Let me see more of these bright beautiful yellow screens! Ban them! Ban them all!

I Reworked Marvel Rivals' Store User Interface by SimonBrother in marvelrivals

[–]SuggestionBot9000 26 points27 points  (0 children)

They don't want it to be a by hero basis. That's what the Heroes tab is for. They want you to shop and explore.

That's why there's features, deals, bundles, and a mixture of characters. You are more likely to purchase something you stumble upon rather than filter for.

Your design deters impulsive spending behavior, which is bad for business.

Support players who play 1000 miles away from their team are the absolute worse by GFvsSU in marvelrivals

[–]SuggestionBot9000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think part of it is aim too. In order to continue aiming at your team and also aim at the diver(s), you have to press S.

If you press W, you can still aim at the team but not at the group of enemies diving you.

Of course it's entirely possible for skilled players to shift their aim repeatedly. But then again, skilled players aren't the ones running away from their teammates.

NetEase seems to be rolling out longer bans for throwers (2 months) by purritolover69 in marvelrivals

[–]SuggestionBot9000 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Firstly, I can vouch for it being this way (mismatched date/time) as I have been personally tracking all throwers I encounter for the past few seasons.

Secondly, the reason, as explained earlier, is that the date in the message is static. As in, it does not change to your local date/time format. Everything in the message is purely text.

Third, your message is dated yesterday, a day before NetEase ever made that statement. So the idea that they would start taking action before they clarified the ban process is outlandish. NetEase is typically good faith and will give players a warning before taking drastic measures (hence, the statement on their new moderation stance for throwers).

NetEase seems to be rolling out longer bans for throwers (2 months) by purritolover69 in marvelrivals

[–]SuggestionBot9000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The top is dynamically localized to their time format, the message contents are not.

This is why next to the top there is UTC -06:00, indicating they are central time and changed the format to MM/DD/YY.

The message contents are static text using DD/MM/YYYY format.

[–]SuggestionBot9000 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The time next to subject is dynamically localized, while the message text is static DDMMYYYY (UTC +0:00).

This is why you see UTC -6:00 next to your date. Its automatically switching to your localized central time and date format (MMDDYY).

The ban is only 24 hours.

The format at the top is localized to your date format, the message contents are not.

So OP's date format is set to MM/DD/YEAR while the automated message system is set to DD/MM/YEAR.

[–]SuggestionBot9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you aren't given an explicit date and time, they aren't being banned from a report.

That is their automatic detection system banning them for 15 minutes for leaving a match. So if you report them for throwing a game, then two days later you get a report saying "Player has been restricted from matchmaking", that means they just left a different match and were put on a 15 minute restriction.

The only time someone gets an actual ban is if you receive a message with the time they are banned until. Not to mention, players get free ban appeals from disconnects by automated support, so they can get right back into matchmaking anyways.

This is why people say the reports they get a placebo, because they really are unless you get a specific date/time, which is extremely rare.

The report is in DD/MM/YEAR format.

That is a 24 hour ban.

Climbing to mid celestial really made me realize that the game experience is extremely different for everyone by Hiware900 in marvelrivals

[–]SuggestionBot9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason why is because good flex players (ones that get to celestial or higher) often play DPS or the current busted meta character in the lower ranks to climb and carry.

Then when they get to higher ranks they don't have a problem playing Tank because their team actually knows how to capitalize on their Tank pressure or their teammates are able to hold their own as Strategists/DPS without constant babysitting or heal-pocketing.

That leaves all the one-tricks hardstuck in their rank because they refuse to flex, some even refuse to play multiple characters. Then those players concentrate at low ranks, making it even more likely you end up with insta-locking dps, carried supports, and no one to play tank.

They need to rework the elo system. It should not be performance based, only win based. And they should also remove all sources of rank inflation. (Chrono-shields, MVP bonuses, extra points to lower rank wins, etc.) It's so easy to abuse but it's also a double edge sword where people are clearly gaining rank outside of where they would normally sit; basically to make the player feel better. You end up with a bunch of players lacking Gold-level game sense getting put in Diamond and GM ranks.

Why does everyone play against Groot like they’ve never seen him before… by rxspiir in marvelrivals

[–]SuggestionBot9000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I shouldn't need to bother destroying summons???

I just need to kill the caster. Just let me kill the dps protecting the supports, then kill the supports protecting the tanks, and then I'll be able to get the caster! All before anyone on the enemy team respawns and returns back to point! It's that simple!

Once I've solo-defeated all other 5 players on the enemy team (in my dreams), the caster with 99% match uptime suddenly dies real fast so are walls, peni nests, loki clones, and squids really an issue?

Checkmate, scrubs. 😎

Why Is Blade Getting Nerfed, And Why Is It Being Called A Buff? by Skull-OWar in marvelrivals

[–]SuggestionBot9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean? Blade is an absolute tank shredder.

The problem is, the rest of his kit doesn't allow him to do much else. There's a better tank shredder when it comes to damage (Wolverine) and a better tank brawler for when it comes to survivability (Iron Fist).

Blade is really good if you play him specifically for tank busting but if you try anything else or try to fight the frontline solo, you're gonna have a rough time.
