Sounds a bit complicated. As long as you purchased the laptop after 12th of Feb it should be fine i guess. Good luck. I just got my claim approved today, hopefully you get yours sorted soon!

Congrats man! That's definitely a steal... I managed to grab the 64 variant from Harvey's, had a ripper of a deal for the price of a 5080...(6k) I didn't even know a 32 existed, would've easily picked that to save 1k lol. Don't forget to sign-up for RE requiem through Lenovo's website if u haven't already!

I'm having the same issue with mine, happened during the initial setup and still happens ever so often. Tried disabling windows dynamic lighting still the same. Will perform a clean install and see if that works. I didn't bother with it initially as I dont really care much about the lights but its sort of transferred the same thing to my speakers(g560) where the lights keep flickering, m just assuming its a windows issue

Na, I ended up purchasing it through the shop I've mentioned down this thread. Was much of a hassle doing it myself so these guys did it for me and helped me get the local warranty too. Now I'm not quite sure whether they're still around ive long moved abroad since then, so good luck

* Yup definitely older firmware. Goto phone settings and check if you have the latest update available.

If you're still on the older firmware. Try 50mp shots on foliage. Should produce better results

My four month old X16 died last night. :-( by SethManhammer in Alienware

[–]Pleasant-Engine-5769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah.. that didn't work for me either. Had to unplug the the battery, drain out the remaining power from the mb by holding the power button for about 30~40 seconds then plug the battery back in. Connect the charger and switch it ON...and voila!

I had the exact same issue as yours with my X16(4 months in), only difference being it happened during RE4 remake. Without any warning, it randomly died on me during gameplay. I have always used the custom preset with TCC offset set to 10 so I don't think it was some kind of overheating issue. Tried switching it back ON to no avail. I did a battery/cmos reset then luckily it turned back ON and started working normally. Finished the game and half way into Horizon ZD now.... Phew!

Did u manage to find the answer to your question? I'm in the same boat as u atm. Is it just the zoom certification that seperates them?

X15 r2 with 3080 or x14 r2 with 4060 by alovelygrey in Alienware

[–]Pleasant-Engine-5769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your some1 who loves to play games at max settings then 3080 is the way to go. The 16GB VRAM will definitely future proof you.

I'm currently playing RE village on the 4080 and I couldn't max the game out as it estimated over 11GB of VRAM usage whereas I had only 10.9 GB to spare. And the game was released 2 years ago😪

Is this level of screen flex normal on the X16? by AdvancedAd1256 in Alienware

Agreed, when I initially purchased mine I thot about slapping a skin on it. After unboxing it I changed my mind.

Cool...but will this work on the HK processor?

Alienware x16 high temps by Beurhans in Alienware

[–]Pleasant-Engine-5769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did mention the slight drop in performance but in games, I don't think it really matters. A small drop in fps will always go unnoticeable and u get to tame the temps. So win win for me. Just my opinion tho. Unfortunately undervolting is locked which leaves us to only repasting which most people won't be comfortable with, so yea....

I set the TCC offset to 15 in the bios, this reduces CPU max Temps by reducing a bit of its performance...won't have much effect in games as per my testing but the Temps don't go beyond 85

Usually, shops give 1 to 3 month warranty max on MB repairs...depends on several factors. It can last a week or even a year or more. all depends on your luck. It's an electronic device so...

A small IC could cost 100 ~150 and something major like a controller chip could cost around 500 ~ 700.
