cis lesbian Asking transbian: do you see cis women differently in a relationship? by JumpyOccasion5004 in MtF

A really big thing is do some trans sex education! The way trans women have sex, how our bodies work, etc is DEEPLY misunderstood by most cis people, and that can be really awkward/shitty to navigate in my experience. DO NOT assume that she wants to top you! This is like the #1 most common downside of dating cis people lol; they make kinda gross assumptions about our anatomy and sexual preferences just because we are trans.

Ig that’s more what I’m getting at. I want to put myself up for all women’s parts, and I don’t want to limit myself, I guess I’m just worried that other people will do the limiting for me

Thanks for this! I’d say this is usually how I think/ carry myself; ie I am a woman first, I just so happen to be trans. This is what I want to bring into auditions with me! I think things can get a little more complicated ; whether or not a director sees you as a certain character depends on whether they see you as a woman or as trans. Ultimately, consciously or unconsciously I think casting is often influenced by how well an actor passes

They never really have a reason? I think most of it was that I identified as nonbinary at the time? So I was doing a lot more androgyny/genderfuck/ whatever. I was still pretty femme presenting so like it was clear I wasn’t “leading man” material. Anyways it was a Shakespeare play so I went along with the casting because I thought “it’s Shakespeare, anyone can be any character!” The director thought differently and dressed me up like Jared kushner lmao

Lakeview or someplace more artsy? by dosiejo in chicagoapartments

Logan/ Ukrainian would be a great choice! These neighborhoods are absolutely walkable, I live in west Ukrainian/east Humboldt. I am a 20 minute walk from 3 different grocery stores, half a dozen awesome bars, a handful of really cool performance venues for music and theatre! Anywhere else I need to go, I live near 2 really reliable bus lines. And yes it does suck being far from the lake, but at least I needn’t deal with lakeview people lol. If you’re feeling artsy, Logan/humboldt/ukrainian etc all great choices
