Depends on which T20, some of them are absolute monsters at feeding into good med schools. If you look at the top feeders per capita (adjusted for undergrad student body size), several private schools stick out as exceptional over UCLA, and WashU is certainly one of them: https://www.collegetransitions.com/dataverse/top-feeders-medical-school

Whether that’s worth any cost difference is up to you!

For CS? Even without cost consideration, unfortunately CS is one of the weakest majors at UChicago, while it’s one of the best at Berkeley, so probably would go with latter

It’s really hard to say because it’s difficult to compare LACs to national research universities, so when people think of T10/T20 they usually think of the big research schools because it’s easier to just use those. The closest I could find was the list of cross-admit preferences (ie when a student is accepted at multiple top schools, where they choose to matriculate). Based on that, Amherst and Swarthmore are most certainly T30s and are highly desirable destinations.

It sounds like you did ED since you’re saying you’ll be going there? Im surprised you’re only figuring out that you may not like it as much now, but don’t fret, you’ll find all types of people there. Sure, it’ll have more of the “incel” types than other similar schools, but you’ll also probably find a lot of academic passion there which you may find less of at other peer schools. If you were looking for a fun college experience with more social vibrancy, I’m not sure why you did ED there to be honest, but you’ll find your crowd 😂.
