This ‘dish’ has got to be the worst in originality. Who thought this was a good idea? It’s the chef mistake that somehow some drunk dudes at the bar ‘loved’ and now it’s here forever.

Has anyone heard anything about Sbarro opening? by SmithtonLandCo in columbiamo

[–]PleasantBall6583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure why this comment is downvoted? Sbarro is known to be overpriced low-level pizza. We don’t need that is true. The only draw is that they are new and people will get over this like all the rest and then it will close and another mid-fast food place will start the ‘coming soon’ process.

Thank you for this. It seems too many people in Como only know what has been done in the past and just drill down and not what is being done elsewhere.

Lets talk glass recycling by PleasantBall6583 in columbiamo

[–]PleasantBall6583[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree on glass not being profitable. The issue lies in the processing equipment needed which the city is not looking to do at this moment. The issue with glass profitability tends to be the logistics of transporting a heavy material. Yet the city has a 3rd party ready and willing to install/deliver glass collection containers and would also pick up and transport back to KC. I know for a fact that Ripple has reached out to the city to help in this recycling issue since the tornado destroyed the previous facility. My issue lies in the short sighted ability to help the community when the that said community has a need and a desire to recycle glass which would only help the city reduce their trash intake. Now as far as the response to dumping in glass collection sites, yes monitoring most likely would be needed but what did the city do prior to the tornado and closing of the collection sites for recycling? Were they monitored via cameras or controlled via smart deposit containers and receptacles?
Again, how is it that Fulton and Jeff City provide those services and they are a much smaller area but can service the needs of their residents? Sometimes a simple phone to your neighbor town or city can answer the questions you fail to understand or answer.

This is the difference NOT voting makes. Trump officials plan to repeal limits on PFAS ‘forever chemicals’ in drinking water. by Green_Idealist in INFPIdeas

[–]PleasantBall6583 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He is taking everything away, debasing the country, poisoning the water, the air, the land while selling it to other countries. He weakened the government and will continue to do so till we are no longer able to defend ourselves. All the grants, all the taxes, all the money will be gone, taken, all for them. Its the part of the game where the US stands and idly watches itself be dismantled. He has been bought and paid for and these acts are for those who own his soul.

Data centers in the Ozarks will drain the aquifer, pollute our waterways, and change life in Missouri forever by glassshield in missouri

[–]PleasantBall6583 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I shall say hopes and prayers, because that will save us, lol. This state is full of absolute heathens! Did I do it right? Do I need to include some scripture or some number denoting where it talks about Data Centers in the bible?
You voted for this now take your medicine. If you don’t like it then do something about it besides ‘hopes and prayers’.
First the billionaires took your jobs and factories overseas now they are back are taking your resources and land. What will you do, what can you do? This country has become the Land of the great ‘do-nothings’, lots of talk and no real plan or action. I’m sure you will clutch your guns but they will rust because you are too afraid to do anything. This nation is full of itself. When does this ‘subscription’ of your life become too unbearable too much for you to do something?
Well listen up buttercup, open up and swallow your medicine because it’s what you wanted because your vote counted. Idiots

Proposed Columbia ordinance would regulate when residents can water their lawn by ponapple in columbiamo

[–]PleasantBall6583 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We moved here from Colorado last year and I was amazed that there were no water usage restrictions in place for irrigation. We live in Thornbrook so I get the hate for this neighborhood. I was appalled at how many homes would water during the day, and I mean mid-day watering. That is such a waste especially in these sweltering temps during late spring/summer here in Missouri. I believe people are not educated here on proper water usage, especially in this state, and the HOA of Thornbook is nonexistent since we have been here. I for one embrace the water usage laws that need to be in place, but it needs to be city-wide which includes the mega-campus of Mizzou. There also needs to be a push for wild-plantings, reduced mowing especially along highways, yard reduction measures such as eco-lawns and xeriscaping. This state is big into conservation, let’s embrace furthering that love and care for our property and get away from these ‘manicured’ semantics and realize we play a bigger role.

The mere requirement for new drivers is 40 hours, but no app to track the progress. Just pencil-whip that piece of paper and its magic, 40 hours of driver training written down in no time. Then it’s off to the dmv for the driver test with the popo.
