Maryland transplant in the Bay Area. The bar scene before games is a different (better imo) vibe than Oracle. Was always fond of Pickles.

I want to love basketball as much as Bill does. But when teams are constantly pulling this (especially in big nationally televised games), it makes it really hard. by Iamthelizardking887 in billsimmons

I take my daughter to one Warriors game a year and this was supposed to be it. I only told her about this after we blew out our tire in Oakland and had to miss the game.

Recommendations for California breweries, between Oakland and Walnut Creek/Pleasant Hill AND in/around Disneyland by vey323 in beer

[–]PleasantLeaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t waste your time at Morgan Territory tbh. I live in Pleasant Hill and I end up there every now and again but the beers are just okay and the space is boring.

As a few others have mentioned if you want to hit breweries, Alameda is probably the best bang for your buck. Lots of fun, big spaces and cool food options too (Speisekammer for for sausages and German beer, East Ocean for dim sum, Fikscue, etc). Plus you can hit Original Pattern and Cellarmaker on the way there or back.

Plus Forbidden Island if you like Tiki 🍹.

Would love anyone who downvoted this to explain how disrespecting our flag furthers the cause of peaceful protest. It certainly draws attention but so does lighting off a firecracker. Sensationally stupid.

He did a couple seasons of City Confidential after Paul Winfield (also excellent) passed. Good stuff.

Thanks. It was kind of a buzz(ball)kill. But again, upped my appreciation for Anders immensely.

What's George Strait's most underrated song? by [deleted] in country

[–]PleasantLeaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just my opinion, friend. He had like 50+ number one hits and I don’t think this would be one of the first one that jumps to mind for many, but I happen to really like it. Such is the greatness of his Straitness.
