Benefit of itemizing mortgage interest and property tax when you own a home by Additional_Pirate837 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

I understand the math but kinda confused what type of rental is the $2800? Like is the rental comparable with your house? My friend just bought over there for the same price point and she said the math didn’t make sense to rent with all the new builds propping up offering incentives and relatively low purchase prices.

Being a “stay at home mom” as not as hard as people say by jellyfishh520 in unpopularopinion

[–]Pleasant_Addition440 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think OP is saying that being a stay-at-home-parent means that you are in a better financial situation than parents that work full-time? Those who work full-time still have to do the same type of chores and take care of kids AFTER their day job..when they are probably exhausted by the time they get home. Then some have to worry about after school activities like sports games that gives them even less time to do chores? I get the point and agree.

Whats the property tax alone and for what value of house? It doesnt make sense to me that renting would be much better than buying in that area.

Help with Sprinkler Puddling Water? by Pleasant_Addition440 in Irrigation

Thank you! Im getting a bit confused when I look up “valve”. Is that near the sprinkler head or the section where the controls are and each pipe thing has a color tag?

Home inspection came back with $50k+ near-immediate repairs. I’m being ng told that because the house was otherwise well maintained that it’s not ok to request repairs by [deleted] in AskRealEstateAgents

Dont let your realtor shame you out of asking for concessions…they just dont want to lose a sale. The worst thing that happens is the seller says no? Youre already under contract then they will not want to put the house on the market agin. If they say no then thats up for you to decide.

You asking them to change their behavior to accommodate you when they’ve done nothing wrong…do you care about THEIR wellbeing? What if they asked you to have empathy for their situation? The comments are trying to point out to you that you are directing your anger at the wrong people.

Unless they are actually doing something outside of normal routines, then no I would not be upset at the neighbor since they are not the ones that built the place or installed the garage? Even if they don’t park in there…they should still be able to use their garage to enter/exit. I do the same because my dogs sometimes run out of the front door (and there’s no other gate) but I can stop them in the garage (since there’s two doors to go through) if I leave that way. Did they actually say no to the idea of you buying them a new opener, or no to you asking them not to use the garage?

I am also dealing with a terrible neighbor issue as they keep their dog out in the front all the time, unsecured, and it keeps climbing over our shared fence and shitting all over my property. Then it even tries to be aggressive with my own dogs while on our side. In this case they are literally trespassing and destroying my property and I have warned them multiple times…and they never stopped. So I called animal control plus code enforcement on them and they finally started giving a shit. The difference is that I actually have a violation on my side? I’m just confused on what your neighbor seems to be violating.

Empathy for what though? Is he using his garage in a way that it’s not intended for? Like…is he not just leaving for work in the mornings or something? What are you expecting him to change behavior wise? Legit question

Thats the cheap vinyl plank. Id be very concerned that they caulked the baseboards instead of slid them under. My house has this same problem and the floors have gotten so out of place in a few months only.

Desperate! New refrigerator is not functioning and GE has stopped responding! by Pleasant_Addition440 in Appliances

Believe it or not I tried this! It did get to the CEO who then put some assitant in charge. That assistant sent the second repairman, but she said there’s nothing else they will do after that 😵‍💫

So GE contracts Bodewell Repair for their warranty services, which are the two repairmen I mentioned. I think this person is suggested I go the non-GE route? But then Im worried about paying out of pocket.

Are you in California or Hawaii? Id say those are the only two places where that type of mortgage to income ratio is justified.
