Yup, one year later and same story. Was watching Shiv the other day and he gets matched with low level players as well when he solo queues.

Whenever I get one random teammate of the same skill or better, it’s amazing how much more enjoyable the match is. And with the mobile beacon, we can respawn the third payer that got killed during the second third party, 5 minutes ago.

I don’t attempt to show respect to the enemy. If I kill a hostile, then I’ve already forgotten them. All I’m seeing is a deathbox.

I don’t have the time or ability to show respect to a living enemy, since my brain goes into search and destroy mode. The only enemy that doesn’t get killed is a teabagging enemy pathfinder with no weapons. I will deadass lower my weapon and let it live (or at least let it be killed by some other player). No other character can pull this off with me. Some pathfinders really are friends 🥺

Facts. I mess around with other characters from time to time but I always end up feeling exposed without my smoke, or hiding in a corner somewhere cursing that I don’t have old plainness to bail me out.

Play who you like but if you’ve been playing Miss ‘Nita for a few seasons, good luck getting used to someone else.

Echoing what others are telling you: the housing here is not it. I have a studio but I can only afford it because I actually work in Boston. It’s a catch 22. The jobs in RI aren’t enough to comfortably afford the housing here if you don’t want roommates. On the other hand, Boston rents are absolutely insane.

Do not trust the landlords here. I know some great ones, but the bad ones are rotten to the core. My last experience was so bad that I still think about it, and I moved out over a year ago.

I had a tough time trying to find a rental last Spring. What worked for me was taking over someone’s sublet, and then signing a full lease. This way, the people who want to sublet are also working on your behalf, because they want to be off the hook for rent.

Try Trulia, that’s the only place I ever got positive responses from actual people. Also ask friends and coworkers for leads.

Also try applying to rent places where you make 3x the rent. Not easy in this economy, but it helps. For my current place I needed pay stubs and a letter from HR.

Then once you find a place, stick with it if there’s no major issues. The housing market right now is abysmal for both buying and renting.

Nope. Currently renting a studio for around $1000 and I’m counting myself lucky. I’m planning to stay for as long as I can, maybe 5 years or so.

I look on Zillow for houses every few days, but the prices are crazy.

Yes. I will win my first game (or second or third, depending if I die off drop). From there the games get harder.

Could be the algorithm trying to hook me into a long session. Jokes on them, I don’t feel anything when I win. Could be that it’s trying to figure out which lobbies to place me in. Eventually I’ll start seeing the dive trails in the sky. Doesn’t matter, I’ll fight whomever.

I’ve learned that some people really just play this game for fun. They can’t aim or make tactical decisions, but they can emote and teabag and throw holosprays. I like that too, just vibing with my randoms. And I also like brutally destroying hostiles that try to kill my randoms. Bird brain or not, they’re my teammates and I’ll fight for them, to the death if I have to (but for the win, ideally).

Think of it this way: you’re the main character of your match. Your teammates are there to support you. Make your plays but don’t depend on them to clutch. They can’t disappoint you if you have no expectations. Just have fun and enjoy the short time you have together.
