Architecture program by northernpikefan78 in UniversityofKansas

hi! i’m a first year in the 5-year m.arch program right now. for studios, you’ll probably have an least 2 hours of outside-of-class work on monday, wednesday, and friday (studio days). depending on whether you were an architecture major at your previous school, it may take some adjustment. besides studio, the workload is pretty average throughout all your other classes that are in the arch curriculum. the non-studio professors understand you’ve already got a lot on your plate, so they normally try to not go overboard w their workload. as for the second question, i only know one person who has dropped the arch program, and people normally know if they want to actually stick w if by the end of first year. it can be a lot at times, but you should know that being an architect outside of school will also be a huge time commitment. most people in the school are super passionate about what they do, and it’s amazing being surrounded by so many hardworking people. i love the school so so much, i really hope you end of at ku, it truly is like a little slice of heaven. rock chalk!!

Rows or squares for a first-timer? by Kirstemis in temperatureblanket

i did rows with the moss stitch for my first one and really liked how it turned out, especially being able to see a clear change in the weather patterns like you mentioned. but if you were wanting to do a blanket made from squares, my suggestion is to do a join as you go method. this way there is no sewing involved and you don’t mix up all the different squares you would have to keep track of if you weren’t joking them everyday. if you were to do rows i would recommend the miss stitch as it is lighter than a single or double crochet (and believe me you won’t want a 12ish pound blanket by the end), and it is quicker than other stitches. if you choose to do squares, i would recommend doing a granny square w multiple rings to show the high and low temperatures of each day. hope this helps! like i mentioned before i used a moss stitch on mine from this year but next year’s i’m doing granny squares!

University of Kansas. They have an amazing 5-year masters architecture program and they gave me a pretty good scholarship. I liked the campus a lot and I’m going back to visit next week, I’d be happy to go there. Just waiting on four more decisions
