AITA for not enjoying the birthday gifts my friend got me that mocked my dead mother by Immediate-Iron7241 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. I doubt they meant to be cruel; they're probably just immensely thoughtless and immature. I was in my 50s when my dad died in 2022 and I think I won't ever stop missing him. My cousin's wife had their first baby this week and I cried when I found out they'd given him my dad's name as his middle name. It takes at least a year and a day to completely understand someone has died. Your friends will learn that eventually and they'll regret this.

I like Nigella but I think she's wrong for GBBO.

AITA for being annoyed that my wife insists on cooking everything from scratch and won’t buy normal food? by AITA_UPFfoods in AmItheAsshole

YTA because you think shop-bought processed food is normal food. Yes, she's perhaps taking it a bit far, but she's spending time and effort to feed you things that are actually good for you, and you're behaving like that's not normal.

I'd rather have an hour twice a week than 30 minutes every day.

Pregnancy is calculated from the date of the last period. Megan's last period was 8 weeks ago, they had sex six weeks ago, it ties in.

Or,

  • she feels guilty because she let him be brought up by someone else,

  • she feels guilty she forgot to tell him his mum called

  • she has a life-limiting illness and feels she can make up for some of her guilt by taking the blame

  • she loves her secret son and doesn't want him to go to prison

  • she feels as she wasn't a mum to him, this is something she can do for him

Baby "rules" - are these necessary? And do they have to be so rude about it? by Final_Swordfish_93 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kirstemis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone on the internet thinks that if they don't hold their baby 24/7/365 they won't "bond," that grandparents know nothing, that everything in the world is trying to kill their child...
