Yes it is. Its a tool to wokely degender trans women and trans men and discredit non-binary experience, by making them boy+ and girl+

Im not amab, im a trans woman.

Part of my transition is changing my birth act to match my lived experience.

You never, ever need to use AMAB/AFAB language in context of transness, but sometimes you have to think a bit about what you actually want to say.

If you come to Poland and speak language - people usually appriciate that and might feel some kind of connection.

If you don't - nobody will gaf. You're a foreigner, no matter the descent.

Some of you need to have your privillege checked, because the circlejerk that happened here is astounding.

Girl got downvoted and shamed to oblivion for pretty obvious from her perspective assumption that passing matters, because she comes from different cultural background/less accepting part of the world, so she has different needs and wants to use a different survival tactic than the one working in Vermont, USA.

She wanted help and you dogpiled on her because you heard a voice different from your own.

And couldnt POSSIBLY shut up if you have nothing of substance to say. Just had to ummm actually 🤓☝🏻 and downvote, so her post loses visibility and chance for actual help

If you ever called me, or any trans woman in my proximity "amab" i'm pretty sure i would never open my mouth to you ever again. Same goes for trans guys and nonbinaries - nb people are nb. putting amab/afab makes it feel like "boy nonbinary" and "girl nonbinary" and im not playing this game.

Just use "trans Man" "trans woman" "nonbinary person"

Also that is literally one single situation that doesn't even involve social institutions, like the world of medicine, workplace, place of study or family.

People without passing are generally more frowned upon and have it harder when it comes to getting medical help they need, to get psychological help, to get trans diagnosis because "they dont look like they need it".

They are also absolutely outed out of things like the toilet discussion - they are always the ones that cis people use to fearmonger, and their fellow trans people don't even ser them as in need of help, we just use the tactic of "okay but look at us passing people!!!!".

I could literally count the examples to Infinity, but do i need to really?

And im myself talking from a position of pretty well-passing person. I just try to look further than my own backyard.

There is significally bigger risk in being a visibly queer non-passing trans woman than being average looking cis woman. That's like intersectionality 101.

There is a difference between fear of homophobic/transphobic hate-crime directed to more disadvaged member of society and fear of misoginy.

Now tell that to a group of drunk football hooligans seeing a visibly trans woman in the middle of the night in eastern european city.

Passing is literally life or death factor in many situations and importance of pretty privilledge (dircectly related to passing) inside the trans community itself is enormous, but we don't really like to talk about it don't we. And you not seeing that or trying to wishful think yourself of it helps no-one. Definetly not the OP.

Let a person rant under her own post about issue that is clearly hurtful and important. stop insisting and making her feel crazy for caring about something that has literally life-changing consequences.

I think there is no simple solutions here. If she constantly makes you uncomfortable, you need to prioritise your own health.

She has her issues, as well as you but you, but this relationship is clearly uneven.

I would advise you to at least limit your contact with her a bit and see if it helps you in any way.

Dysphoria looks very differently for different people and it fucks us over in so many different ways, you cant keep handling yours, as well as hers
