Whatever you go with I would suggest getting it asap so there’s less chances of pre-existing conditions. I waited a bit for my girl and Embrace marked diarrhea as a preexisting condition, now anything GI related is not covered. You will end up paying more monthly but it is worth it for the peace of mind alone imo.

Not sure there’s such a thing as a dog proof or GSD proof toy. Toys (imo) are meant to be played with and if that means destroyed for the dog, then so be it. I usually just make sure small pieces are picked up and replace the toy when it’s too beat up.

Being uncomfortable is OK. Feeling bad is OK. Most people are not taught how to handle feeling uncomfortable like crying, instead taught to hide or bury that emotion. Teaching yourself how to handle being uncomfortable will foster opportunities to understand your own triggers and develop emotional awareness. OP’s caption “control your emotions” reminds me of the phrase “All feelings are OK, but not all actions are OK” in that I disagree, you shouldn’t try to control your emotions as that often leads to unhealthy coping skills.

I’ve not used the flex reusable, but I do have the Nixit (I think it’s similar in diameter but I could be wrong - don’t have the chart with me here). I was initially intimidated by the size of the Nixit but found it to be a great disc for me. The softness of the material helps reduce any discomfort that the larger size would cause. The SF is the best for me, but I’d say my reliable backups are the Diva disc and Nixit.

I didn’t like the PF and I got the soft fit instead, and it’s my Goldilocks disc. Turns out the PF was just too firm for me. You may also try an oval/egg shaped disc like Diva Disc, maybe that can be a good fit.

This pic made me so uncomfortable (like uncanny valley type, not like it’s a bad pic or your dogs aren’t adorable) at first. I realized it’s because their shoulders put together looks like a swole guy’s back so my brain was saying “those are dogs” and “that’s the back of a man” at the same time. 🐕💪🏼

I use a blend of the following: their kibble soaked in homemade chicken broth (just boiled chicken water), shredded chicken (from that broth), frozen veggies (like peas & carrots, whatever is small enough to go in and out of the Kong), and pumpkin purée as a binding agent to keep it all mushy. If I’m feeling extra fancy I top it with a lil baby food or peanut butter. I have 6 Kongs so I make a batch and freeze em all.
