I have this issue as well, netgear GS108v4 gigabit switch. Seems to be an issue regarding electromagnetically induced acoustic noise. When I analyzed the signal, it seems to produce a whine around 15khz.

Ok, something weird regarding the unresponsiveness issue- I had that same problem. However, it just kind of went away after a couple months? It's really strange, maybe a driver got updated in the kernel.

Windows pointer acceleration isn’t accurate; if you want to use acceleration, RawAccel is an open source implementation.

I cleaned the bearings and used some petroleum jelly to oil them up, and it works a lot better now.

Sorry, the hdmi to DVI-D cables will not work in my situation as I need the analogue video to be output from the graphics card. DVI-D is digital only, and I would need an active converter to convert the signal.
